WARNING! The next Cruise is about to take off and we are pretty sure it will enter party history. You may ask yourself why we are so sure about that. Well, on the one hand Cruise parties are guaranteed sweat every single month. On the other hand, the line up for October is giving us joy by the mere thought. Luke Slater can easily be regarded as one of the most relevant Techno Pioneers of the UK and way beyond. With over 20 years under the belt and a vast range of aliases this British gentleman continuously delivers without a break in sight until this very day. And all of this without loosing creativity and drive. In the early nineties Luke released four albums using his Planetary Assault System moniker via Peacefrog. All of these made it into Techno history and can easily be seen as timeless classics. With further releases on Nova-Mute, Ostgut Ton and his very own imprint Mote-Evolver, his monumental catalogue is a pure manifestation of electronic music culture. Luke shows his sensitive side with his ambient alias The 7th Plain while his L.B. Dub Corp project, that we presented back in February this year, just recently demonstrated once again his very own notion of the gateway in between House and Techno with a stellar release in February showcasing 8 wonderful tracks. With Jamaica Suk we are happy top present one of the most promising discoveries of recent times. The quirky industrial sound of the graduated Jazz musician from San Francisco who currently makes waves with her residency at the Pornceptual parties in Berlin is surprisingly fresh. We just can’t wait for a night with dark sounds and mesmerising Techno funk, that will finally be brought together by Ilian Tapes Rupcy, a side project of one of our residents.

Einerseits aufgrund dessen, dass uns das besagte Gathering mit Ausnahmezustand-Garantie ohnehin immer aus den Latschen hebt. Anderseits wegen der explosiven Dreier-Konstellation, die uns erwartet. Luke Slater darf ohne Bedenken als einer der bedeutendsten Pioniere elektronischer Musik in Großbritannien und weit darüber hinaus bezeichnet werden. Mit einer mehr als zwanzigjährigen Karriere und zig pulsierenden Aliassen im Nacken, legt der von Muse sprudelnde Brite bis heute permanent nach. Und das ohne an Kreativität und Spitzigkeit zu verlieren. Seine Anfänge hatte er in den Neunzigern, in denen er als Planetary Assault System via Peacefrog vier futurisch-dynamische Techno-Alben für die Ewigkeit ins Universum schoss. Gefolgt von unmessbar wertvollem Output auf Nova-Mute, Ostgut Ton oder seinem eigenen Label Mote-Elvover, schafft sich Slater schon bis dato ein Monument, das seinesgleichen sucht. Mit seinem Ambient-Alter-Ego 7th Plain präsentiert Luke seine sinnliche Seite, als L.B. Dub Corp – unter diesem Namen besuchte uns Luke schon einmal im Februar – schuf er zuletzt im Mai diesen Jahres mit acht Stücken eine meisterhafte Schnittstelle zwischen seiner Interpretation von House und Techno. Mit Jamaica Suk preisen wir eine der verheißungsvollsten Entdeckungen der letzten beiden Jahre an. Der verfranzt-industrielle Zukunftssound der studierten Jazz-Musikerin aus San Francisco, die gerade eine Welle mit ihrer Residenz bei den Berliner Pornceptual Partys macht, kommt nämlich dermaßen erfrischend daher, dass wir nur schwärmen können. Von düsteren Klangbildern gezeichneter Techno und stampfender Funk, treffen auf knarzende Hochstimmung – so das Fazit. Zu guter Letzt horchen wir gespannt auf Rupcy aus dem Ilias Tape Camp, der unserem Vergüngungstumult, als Pseudonym einer unserer Residents, das gewisse Etwas verleihen wird.
