Our November Cruise welcomes DJ Qu, a key figure in New York’s late-2000s House resurgence. Closely associated with the Underground Quality imprint that made waves at the turn of the millennium, he also founded his own label, Strength Music Recordings, in 2006. Before dedicating himself to DJing and the timeless soul of House music, Qu first made his mark as a professional dancer, performing internationally and teaching, a background that continues to inform his rhythmic sensibility behind the decks. Qu will play a rare Techno set and joins and XDB – a steadfast force of the (German) underground – on the lineup.
Kosta Athanassiadis has built his reputation on patience and precision rather than peaks and trends. His refined sets, rooted in Minimal House and Techno, embody his own maxim: > It doesn’t have to be perfect, just an authentic feel and not clinical <.
Bassiani resident Newa raises the intensity with her immersive, detailed strain of Techno, echoing her roots in Jazz and Experimental music.
Rounding out the night are our residents Muallem and Kareem El Morr, heads of the local imprints childhood and roots.audio, who fluidly move at the intersection of Techno & House.
