The music of Kölsch, the stage name of Rune Reilly Kølsch could hardly be further from the (german) first association of the name. It’s got nothing to do with the type of beer or overflowing, carnival-loving fun programs to entertain large and thirsty mobs at the push of a button. But instead: Kölsch is an artist who almost effortlessly casts a spell over large crowds with his music. Lavish melodies, delicate mood changes that oscillate between solemn euphoria and filigree melancholy as well as stirring, yet subtle-seeming tension curves and build ups are where Rune Reilly Kølsch really excels. The Danish producer and DJ has mastered the game of grand musical gestures not only on expansive festival stages, but also in sweaty clubs. With this mixture, he stylistically and confidently balances on the fine line between label-institutions like Kompakt and grand festivals. The result convinces people on both sides of the techno spectrum.
Rosa Red’s musical beginnings lie in the psychedelic and spherical niches of indie, yet it was the funky grooves that first fascinated her at the turntables. Her style is characterized by a unique and personal take on the vital interaction of melody, rhythm & mood that define good DJs. This approach stems from her diverse perspectives, be it as a musician or as a graphic designer and illustrator. Her colourful style makes her an excellent fit to open the upcoming evening. And Andy Catana from Vienna is a perfect match to play the closing set of our first September-night, known for his dubbed out, big-room techhouse-orientated sets.
