Going on a club tour with a festival is an appealing concept, but certainly not an easy one to realize: but Lighthouse Festival is among the few to actually pull it off well! It’s an almost impossible feat to cram the dynamics and dramaturgy of a party lasting several days into the few hours of a club night. The vast amounts of space, the countless parallel happening personal, musical and visual experiences are difficult to embed in the linear structure of a club party. But milestones like the tenth anniversary of the Lighthouse Festival in Croatia deserve to be celebrated accordingly. Not only because it is one of our favourite summer events. But because it scores high with diverse and progressive bookings with a focus on house as well as picturesque open air stages and a thoughtful programming of these too.

Fortunately, Lighthouse is always good for a few surprises and simply know how to set well placed focal points in their program and their indoor parties make no exception. The Munich party at Blitz, for example, gives a small insight into how varied and dynamic an evening in the Nassraum, the techno floor of the festival can be.
The night starts with a hypnotic back to back of Don Williams & XDB: the duo played their first joint set in Croatia and nowadays, this fruitful mixture can be seen and heard more and more often in European clubs! They shine with nuanced, carefully developed and psychedelic mixes. Børt from Vienna spells Techno the British and break-heavy way and will shift things up a gear or two. Karenn, the collaboration project of Pariah & Blawan, play one of their revered as well as explosive live performances and focus on the intoxicating power of raw, almost proto-technoid sounds and rhythms. Ehrenschwestafrom Vienna directly plugs into the high-voltage socket and keep us dancing into the late hours with strong and fast, but nonetheless funky techno in true 90s fashion. We’re already excited about our return to Croatia in May 2023.

Es ist ein reizvolles, aber gewiss kein einfach umzusetzendes Konzept, mit einem Festival auf Clubtour zu gehen: aber das Lighthouse Festival schafft es trotzdem mit Bravour! Es gleicht der Quadratur des Kreises, die Dynamik und Dramaturgie einer mehrtätigen Party in einige Stunden Clubnacht zu übersetzen. Die Weitläufigkeit, die Vielfalt der Eindrücke, egal ob sie persönlicher, musikalischer oder auch visueller Natur sind, sie sind schwer in die lineare Struktur einer Clubnacht einzubetten. Nichtsdestotrotz gehören Meilensteine wie das zehnjährige Jubiläum des LighthouseFestivals in Kroatien gefeiert – nicht nur, weil es eines unserer persönlichen Lieblingsfestivals ist. Denn es punktet mit stilbewusstem, vielfältigen Booking, mit Fokus auf House als auch malerischen Open Air Bühnen und einer gelungen Bespielung ebendieser.

Zum Glück ist das Lighthouse Festival immer für ein paar Überraschungen gut und setzt gelungene Schwerpunkte im Festivalprogramm, aber besonders auf der Clubtour. So konzentriert sich die Münchner Party im Blitz auf die eigene Perspektive des Techno und gibt uns einen kleinen Einblick, wie vielfältig und dynamisch ein Abend im Nassraum, dem Technofloor des Festivals, aussehen kann.
Mit dem back to back von Don Williams & XDB beginnt der Abend hypnotisch: Das Duo spielte erstmals auf dem Lighthouse Festival ein gemeinsames Set. Eine fruchtbare Mischung, die zum Glück immer öfter in den europäischen Clubs zu sehen uns zu hören ist und durch die nuancierte, sorgsam entwickelte psychedelische Dramaturgie ihrer Sets überzeugt. Børt aus Wien interpretiert den Sound auf britische Art und Weise, mit viel Freude an Breakbeats und UK-Garage Grooves. Karenn, das Kollaborationsprojekt von Pariah & Blawan, spielt eines seiner begehrten wie explosiven Livesets und setzt auf die berauschende Kraft roher, beinahe proto-Technoider Klänge und Rhythmen. Ehrenschwesta aus Wien schließt direkt an der Starkstrom-Leitung an und treibt uns mit kraftvollem und schnellem, aber nichtsdestotrotz funky Techno in bester 90er Jahre Manier bis in die späten Morgenstunden. Und nun? Freuen wir uns auf die nächste große Party am Strand von Kroatien, Ende Mai 2023.
