Nostalgia could be the unifying theme of the two guests DJ Boring & Curses. Not because they’re musicians at the foreseeable end of their careers, but because they’re artists with a distinctly contemporary view of the sentiments of days gone by. Both play with these perspectives: Curses evokes the decadent chic of the 80s between New Wave, Post-Punk & EBM, while DJ Boring, with his numerous lo-fi house scene hits, full of filtered textures & Youtube snippets unmistakably helped shape the soundtrack of a 90s glorifying internet bubble. But as so often, there is so much more to discover behind the first glimpse.
DJ Boring has evolved into a well-regarded producer & DJ of smooth and melody-loving house with a penchant for sleek laidback vibes, establishing himself as an individual artistic personality far beyond the lo-fi house boom. Curses plays an infectious dark-wave, synth-pop & italo-house hybrid with a gritty punk attitude, which, at first, you’d rather expect to find at sophisticated indie parties. Instead, he infiltrates the club world with his gloomy aesthetic and connects with current rave subcultures and provides an exciting sonic contrast to the monochrome all-black style of contemporary (hard-)techno scenes.
And Sedef Adasi, our resident darling? She likes to play with synth-pop and EBM quotations anyway, and now we’re really looking forward to hear what the versatile DJ will contribute to the trialogue of performers this evening.

Auf den ersten Blick könnte Nostalgie das verbindende Thema unserer beiden Gäste DJ Boring & Curses sein – nein, sie sind keine Künstler im Herbst ihrer Karriere, sondern Artists mit einem ausgeprägt-zeitgenössischen Blick auf die Gefühlsregungen vergangener Tage. Curses spielt einen packenden Hybrid aus Dark-Wave, Synth-Pop & Italo-House mit Punk-Attitüde, den man im ersten Moment eher auf anspruchsvollen Indie-Parties erwarten würde. Stattdessen infiltriert er die Clubwelt mit seinem morbiden Chic, dockt damit bestens an die nachtliebende Club-Subkulturen an und liefert einen spannenden klanglichen Kontrast zum monochromen All-Black-Style zeitgenössischer (Hard-)Techno-Szenen.
