Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being is one of those living legends hailing form the city of Chicago. The start of his musical journey dates back to the glorious days of the Music Box, where he was inspired by no one else then Ron Hardy RIP. After being mentored by Adonis, he left nothing out. As promoter, DJ and producer he has left footprints all over and way beyond his hometown. His tracks always incorporate a distinct groove, well, what else can you expect from Chicago. However they are never simple but rather abstract, complex and experimental. Again and again, you’ll encounter nothing but pure freshness and rich ideas that take you on a ride. Hieroglyphic Being will play alongside our residents La Staab and Stenny this Saturday on our BLITZ floor.
Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being ist einer dieser lebenden Legenden aus Chicago. Seine musikalische Reise beginnt zur glorreichen Zeit der Music Box, ein sagenumwobener Club in dem er in den Genuss kommen durfte von niemanden anderem als Ron Hardy – in Frieden möge er ruhen – inspiriert wurde. Jamal hat seitdem nichts ausgelassen. Ob als Promoter, Produzent oder DJ, er hat überall weit über die Stadtgrenzen Chicagos hinaus seine Fusstapfen hinterlassen. Seine Tracks sind immer wieder von einem ganz bestimmten Groove bestimmt, was anderes ist von jemanden aus Chicago wohl auch nicht zu erwarten. Nichts desto Trotz ist seine Musik nie simpel sondern eher abstrakt, komplex und experimentell. Sein Schaffen sorgt immer wieder für pure Frische, Ideenreichtum und nehmen einen damit auf eine wundervolle Reise.
