Jordan Alexander aka Mall Grab is a bubbling, eclectic and curious personality. Long gone are the days when cynical critics foretold him a short-lived career as the poster-boy of the Lo-Fi-House trend, not knowing of what was yet to come. That was 2017 – six years ago. And now? It’s hard to think of the global electronic dance music scene without the ebullient Australian artist who relocated to London years ago. A lot has happened in the meantime. A lot of musical twists and turns have characterized Mall Grab, from his former Lofi-House signature sound that first made him a name, the full-on Acid Rave and dark Warehouse-Techno to the all- over- the-place or better all-encompassing debut album „What I Breathe”. He has expertly managed to tie so many of the countless musical ideas and directions that have influenced him together in a spellbinding matter. Mall Grab may have been hard to pinpoint musically, but his passion is inescapable.
His latest album release > Dust < even saw him reconnect with the muted, cooler than ice Lo-Fi-House aesthetic that first propelled him to fame. At the same time, he’s been pushing high-NRG collaborations with Flansie with the “Bounce“ knob turned up to 11. Jordan Alexander isn’t about strategy and business plans, he’s about what’s fun and that every moment counts: and that’s what makes him such a joy as an artist. A excited by each and every tune he spins, ready to fuse with the party.
Mall Grab is joined by another two passionate performers: Ryan Elliot and Katia Curie. The Detroit-gone- Berlin Ostgut Ton affiliate’s biography developed right along one of electronic dance music’s seminal connections and results in an unapologetically funky, seamlessly- constructed Techno & House hybrid, whereas Katie Curie from Vienna, part of the PRST team and member of the Sonic Resistance collective, pushes boundaries with an eclectic curation of spherical and 90’s informed Techno.
