05:00 – End Avalon Emerson

Avalon Emerson always had a refreshingly unorthodox take on club music. Leftfield and melodic, she draws on a range of sounds and styles way beyond the familiar and well loved club-sounds with a truly unique, delightfully nerdy and introspective dash – a tender yet heady oddball in a world of functional delights.

Her new release & The Charm take her approach even further: Avalon Emerson pivots towards dream-pop leaning Indietronica. Another impressive step for an artist who’s hard to pin down anyway: just follow her releases, from Ananuku, her Whities releases, the remixes. Her new direction provides an interesting outlook in a time, when club music is going pop and is more and more rooted in the mainstream, in tender and soft-hued, yet incandescent colours. We’re more than excited to see where her new experiences and music will take her DJ sets, especially at Blitz Club.
Octo Octa, head of the revered T4T LUV NRG imprint and our revered resident Bashkka parenthese the evening with interesting, personal perspectives. Octo Octa is well known for her empowering, life- affirming, often breakbeat-tinged House. Hope, Community and the commitment to build a better tomorrow isn’t just apparent in her music though: follow Maya Bouldry-Morrison and you’ll find she’s handing out knowledge and tips on how to equip up-and-coming artists and together with her partner Eris Drew has created a vital platform under the T4T LUV NRG moniker. Our very own Bashkka’s aphrodisiac and strapping, contemporary Electro-inspired funk draws from the queer and trans community she helps to shape and protect, but her Blitzcast from February proved she’s got a fine ear for the tender, ethereal and psychedelic in dance music that connects all to well with Avalon Emerson’s and Octo Octa’s approach of music.
