Retro-romantic Disco & House extravaganza is the motto of our first Friday in October. Featuring the three seasoned selectors 600-Cell, Danilo Plessow (aka Motor City Drum Ensemble) and Tereza, our guests will enchant you with unique takes on the infectious and seductive, loose and laid-back swing.
Whereas Danilo Plessow’s musical productions heavily rely on sampling, one of Hip-Hop’s seminal musical practices which gives his music a decidedly retro yet refreshing take on Disco & House, Tereza’s lively approach on rhythm is fuelled by the multifaceted grooves of Hip-Hop, House and Disco. She initially started to make waves as a Hip-Hop DJ, too – feel the groove in her sharp and snappy mixing. Formerly known as Motor City Drum Ensemble, Danilo Plessow’s unique and vibrant handling of musical history connecting human and mechanic funk made him one of contemporary dance musics greats and the passionate grooves from soulful Bass, Disco, House to leftfield Hip-Hop have made Tereza an artists to keep on your watchlist.
Our versatile and style-conscious resident 600-Cell‘s personal musical history mainly draws on Disco, but his wide-ranging musical enthusiasm makes him a classy fit for pretty much every musical occasion. You’d be daft to miss him on his native musical turf though: everyone’s a winner on the dance floor thanks to Niklas Bergmüller’s sensitive crowd-reading, when the whizz-kid steps up to deliver all the hits and grooves you never knew existed.

Danilo Plessow’s Disco & House-Sound, der zugleich charmant retrospektiv und doch erfrischend klingen, zehrt von seiner Arbeit mit Samples – einer der einflussreichen Stilmitteln der Hip-Hop Kultur. Danilow Plessow hat das musikalische Spiel mit Samples und der musikalischer (Re-)Kontexualisierung dabei bestens verstanden: seine einzigartigen Mixes schlagen Brücken zwischen den unterschiedlichsten Jahrzehnten und Szenen. Nicht umsonst gehört er zu den spannendsten Künstlern der Szene. Tereza dagegen zeigt sich deutlich vom Facettenreichtum der Hip-Hop-Grooves beeinflusst – heute spielt sie lebhaften Disco & House, ihre Anfänge als Hip-Hop DJ sind dabei kaum zu überhören, denn ihr Mixing ist zackig und On-Point. Sie serviert Bass mit einer Prise Soul, Disco, House und bisweilen auch Leftfield Hip-Hop, alles davon mit Leidenschaft und Verve und das macht sie zu einer Künstlerin, die man unbedingt auf dem Schirm behalten sollte.
Auch wenn unser vielseitiger und stilbewusster Resident 600-Cell in seiner persönlichen musikalischen Entwicklung vorrangig auf Disco zurückgreift, macht ihn sein weitläufiger musikalischer Enthusiasmus zu einem erstklassigen Künstler für so ziemlich jedes musikalisches Setting. Niklas Bergmüller weiß, sein Publikum mit Feingefühl zu lesen und sein weiters Repertoirewissen beschert Hörer*innen und Tänzer*innen musikalische Neuentdeckungen en masse.
