Some of the best (dance) music is sweet, tender and patient, but that’s not what tonight is about: Patrick Mason, MCR-T and Tezibel play polarizing and blunt, contemporary and decidedly vocal dance music for one of the year’s last club nights!
Patrick Mason and MCR-T don’t shy away from using their voice in a club music context – factual and literally. Julian McCarthy aka MCR–T is well known for his raucous, rap-fueled take on Techno, that draws as much on Hip-Hop as it does on Hardcore and Gabber, that you could consider Berlin’s answer to Miami Bass. Like Patrick Mason, he is not afraid to use a microphone to perform live vocals that add additional heat to ignite our Blitz ballroom’s melting pot!
Growing up in a conservative corner of Bavaria, Patrick Mason returns to Munich and Blitz to blur the boundaries between classic forms of DJing and live performance, with a truly physical approach that incorporates singing and dancing. He’s just as much influenced by Detroit Techno, New York House as well as his occupations as an art director, graphic and fashion designer – his knowledge, experience and seemingly limitless energy allows him to develop a wide-ranging approach to club music that’s well aware of its provocative nature but uses it to full effect. Love or loathe Patrick Mason: there’s no escape to his engrossing attitude!
Lucky number three tonight is Tezibel from Vienna – another busy bee that likes to use her own voice in her productions and has a penchant for powerful sounds! After studying the piano and singing at Vienna’s conservatory, she opted for video design and dance music in a multitude of forms: whether it’s DJing, producing, running the Twisted Spine imprint or the REDIVIDER collective, Tezibel is all about making you dance with dashing Electro and propulsive Techno with dashes of UK-Bass!

Unverblümte, zeitgemäße und kraftvolle Grooves mit Potenzial zum Polarisieren stehen heute im Zentrum des Geschehens: Patrick Mason, MCR-T und Tezibel zeigen, wie Techno heute klingen kann.
Patrick Mason und MCR-T schrecken nicht davor zurück, ihre Stimme in einem Clubmusik-Kontext einzusetzen – sachlich und buchstäblich. Julian McCarthy aka MCR-T ist bekannt für seinen rohen und rap-lastigen Entwurf von Techno, der sowohl auf Hip-Hop als auch auf Hardcore und Gabber zurückgreift und die man als Berlins Antwort auf Miami Bass bezeichnen könnte. Wie Patrick Mason scheut er sich nicht, ein Mikrofon für Live-Vocals zu benutzen, um die Stimmung auf unserem Blitz-Baalsaal auf den Siedepunkt zu befördern.
Aufgewachsen in einer (noch) konservativ(er)en Ecke Bayerns, kehrt Patrick Mason nach München und ins Blitz zurück, um die Grenzen zwischen klassischen Formen des DJing und der Live-Performance zu verwischen, mit einem wahrhaft körperlichen Ansatz, der Gesang und Tanz einschließt. Detroit Techno, New York House und seine Berufe als Art Director, Grafik- und Modedesigner haben ihn dabei beeinflusst – sein Wissen, seine Erfahrung und seine scheinbar grenzenlose Energie ermöglichen es ihm, einen breit gefächerten Ansatz für Clubmusik zu entwickeln, der sich seiner provokativen Natur bewusst ist und diese voll ausnutzt. Ganz gleich wie man zu Patrick Mason steht: seiner fesselnden Attitüde kann man sich nicht entziehen!
Unser dritter Gast heute Abend ist Tezibel aus Wien – eine weitere fleißige Akteurin, die gerne ihre eigene Stimme in ihren Produktionen einsetzt und ein Faible für kraftvolle Sounds hat! Nach einem Klavier- und Gesangsstudium am Wiener Konservatorium entschied sie sich für Videodesign und Dancemusic in den verschiedensten Formen: Ob als DJ, Produzentin, Betreiberin des Twisted Spine-Imprints oder des REDIVIDER-Kollektivs, Tezibel bringt euch mit flottem Electro und treibendem Techno mit einem Schuss UK-Bass zum Tanzen!
