We celebrate the end of Bavaria’s Christmas holidays with a whooping trio and monochrome Techno thunder. Hadone, Jonas Yamer & Rebekah serve driving & dystopian dance floor delights that’ll make you move and exercise your inner demons.
Catharsis can be seen as tonight’s main musical topic. Catharsis is Ancient Greek for purification or cleansing and thus expels negative emotion by arousing it, with relief and joy. It was a common motif in dramaturgy of the ancient theatre. Contemporary Techno and Catharsis may appear to be unlikely friends to anyone new to the scene, but there’s nothing quite like an obsidian dance night to exercise one’s inner (and maybe even 2023’s remaining) demons, right?
Rebekah can be seen as one of the key figures of Techno & Catharsis recent fruitful resurgence and for all the right reasons: she discovered the potential and power after a run of career and life changes and choices, that included evolving from House to Techno, working on hybrid live-sets and becoming sober. Rebekah’s music is mighty and muscular, makes no compromises and is the result of dedication, and that is – and has! – to be felt.
Munich’s very own Jonas Yamer is a busy multitalented in the world of dark arts and has more than just a few approaches to offer. Be it as one of Munich’s spellbinding band Carl Cari, as head of the Molten Moods imprint or as a visual and sound artist: Jonas offers multidimensional approaches to enter the immersive and Stygian Techno wormhole and is one of the few DJs who slams with delicate class.
Completing tonight’s trio infernale is Hadone. The French producer and DJ is responsible for a string of consistent and stunning releases on labels such as Monnom Black, Mama Told Ya, Kaos, Klakson and Taapion too: great indicators for the quality of his high-grade functional and contemporary Techno.
