Agile British and sun kissed, lively beats from two masters of their craft: Ben UFO & tINI’s unique approaches to groove make everyone move and our resident vince will get you into the mood!
Ben UFO is one of those ‘how-did-they-do-that’ DJs, that pair technical wizardry with a wide and informed musical knowledge and selection. A DJ that’s able to twist and turn mixes and sets in instants, while retaining a strong sense of cohesion. A DJ that’s able to dig for over. But above all: he’s a DJ with a singular feel and approach for groove, rooted in the skittish yet down-low rhythms and frequencies of UK dance music culture.
He’s also part of the quintessential British imprint Hassle Audio, alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea, that, in Ben’s words, is > part of a diverse continuum of UK dance music rooted in soundsystem culture <. It’s been called a Dubstep label, a house label, a techno label, one for bass music. > We’re interested in putting out music that surprises us, inspires us, and perhaps doesn’t fit in anywhere else. < And that just as well sums up the thrill in witnessing Ben Ufo: it’s unpredictable what route his mixes might wind down, but he’s all about chasing the funk, tunes and vibes, not manifesting his profile.
The Portugal-gone tInI celebrates her homecoming tonight and brings a basking glow of Iberian sunsets to Blitz in the middle of the harsh winter in February. The Munich-native has gone on to become one of our Landeshauptstadt’s finest musical exports, who’s equally adept at seducing cozy clubs as well as vast festival floors. Her unique and aphrodisiac approach to Techno, House & Techhouse is lively and driving, yet never hurried (you don’t rush things you love, right?) and owes to the White Island and one of her key influences: Ibiza. tINI plays bronzed and radiant grooves like no one else.
Our resident vince is a chameleonic selector with a sweetspot for the sounds between House & Techno, but his greatest strength may be his spotless ability to read a crowd and to deliver all those grooves you didn’t even realize you were missing.
