Colourful, nuanced and contemporary perspectives on House from three unique selectors: Dixon, Rosa Red and Virginia.
Variety has always been one of Dixon’s calling cards. Maybe an essential trait for a House DJ honing his name in a scene mostly associated with Techno, right? Steffen Berkhahn aka Dixon, at times called > master of the pop-house < honed his craft in the wild Berlin of the 90ies – he went on to leave a substantial mark on House and dance music with his (re)mixes, the influential Innervisions imprint and his wide-ranging approach to dance music that includes fashion and interdisciplinary, multimedia formats, too. Fast-forward to 2024 and he’s still one of the scene’s biggest names, because: he’s interested in the future rather than cementing the, or better, his own past. While he could easily lean on his past achievements, he’s more interested in steadily developing his projects and selections. Yet his kaleidoscopic and soft-hued handling of colours and moods in his selections remain – great DJs are those with unique and trademark perspectives!
Our good friend and regular guest Virginia is another one of those DJs with a style that’s instantly recognizable: it’s a warm and soulful take on House, Electro and Techno. And it’s truly multidimensional, not just thanks to her spontaneous use of live vocals. A (live-)musician at heart that knows how to layer various musical approaches, there are few artists that have seized the balance and contrast between organic and synthetic, stylized and authentic in music and her DJ sets.
One of the very few others is in fact Munich-born Rosa Red. She plays euphoric grooves from House, Breakbeat and Rave in a wide range of bright and luminous, not bold and blinding textures. She’s another personality rooted in (underground) live music and her profession in graphic design helps her to paint vivid and engrossing sets through out-of-the-box perspectives that are brimming with curiosity about the all the details that make dance music so great.

Dixon, Rosa Red und Virginia decken ein weites Spektrum zeitgenössischer und farbenprächtiger House-Sounds ab.
Vielfältigkeit gehört seit jeher zu Dixons Markenzeichen – eine vielleicht unentbehrliche Eigenschaft für einen House-DJ, der im Techno begeisterten Berlin der 90er seine ersten Schritte machte? Aber genau dort hat Stefan Berghain aka Dixon, der bisweilen auch als > Master of Pop-House < bezeichnet wird, sein Handwerk erlernt und weiterentwickelt. Heute gehört er zu den einflussreichsten Persönlichkeiten der Szene und hat sich mit seinen zahllosen (Re-)Mixen, dem Innervisions-Label und dessen weitreichender Herangehensweise an Dancemusic Culture, die von Mode bis hin zu interdisziplinären und multimedialen Ansätzen reicht, einen Namen gemacht. Auch im Jahr 2024 bleibt er relevant, denn sein Interesse gilt auch weiterhin der Zukunft – dabei könnte er sich, wie wenige andere sonst, auch einfach um den eigenen Nachlass kümmern. So entwickelt er seine Projekte und Sets weiter, die vielfältig und spannend wie eh und je sind, sein charakteristisch-farbenfroher, pastellfarbener Touch bleibt dabei unverwechselbar.
Virginia ist eine gute Freundin des Hauses (wie auch des House!) und eine Regular in unserer Booth. Ihre unverkennbar warme und gefühlvolle Herangehensweise an House, Electro und Techno sorgt immer wieder für Glücksmomente auf dem Dancefloor. Sie ist eine (Live-)Musikerin im Herzen, die farbenfrohe Sets spielt und bestens weiß, wie man akustische Farbtöne mischt und kreativ miteinander kombiniert. Organisch und synthetisch, authentisch wie stilisiert: in Virginia’s Sets finden selbst Kontraste zueinander. Sowas erlebt man nicht alle Tage!
Eine der wenigen anderen ist die (leider Ex-)Münchnerin Rosa Red, die mit euphorischen House-, Breakbeat- und Rave-Grooves Soundlandschaften in den hellsten und leuchtendsten Farben malt. In jedem ihrer fesselnden Sets lässt sich die Ikonographie ihrer Underground-Wurzeln und ihrer Arbeit als Grafikdesignerin wiederfinden, unkonventionell, mit Liebe zum Detail und mit ganz viel Rot.
