Saturday’s Klubnacht welcomes a trio of stellar selectors for a night of cutting-edge Techno. Estella Boersma, Glaskin and Wallis deliver contemporary, driving Concrete Funk for passionate dancers.
Keen to move beyond misleading Hard-Techno associations, Wallis has been reshaping her place within the scene — to better reflect where she truly belongs: Techno. Embracing the endless possibilities happy accidents of hardware and reconnecting with the genre’s exploratory roots, she leans towards quirky, jittering oddball sounds over sleek presets and polished surfaces — with emotion and personality at the core. >[…] violence for the sake of violence is not really my thing […] < she explains. Although she still plays dashing edgy sounds & rhythms these days – with a healthy, unique and bold ècriture. > My vison is that it’s not speed that conveys energy and power, but grooves. < Wallis is here to make you move — with class.
Estella Boersma is another gifted selector and producer operating on Techno’s angular spectrum. The Dutch artist transitioned from fashion to fully embrace her passion for dance music. Fond of athletic tempos and jagged, resolute sound design, she showcased her sonic identity on her acid-infused debut EP on her own imprint, EB-REX and delivers stimulant sets on the floor.
And our residents Glaskin? Sonic butter. The Munich-based brothers are fluent in the language of contemporary Techno, while also rooted in the traditions and intricacies of the genre’s classic forms. Their sets offer a refined, dynamic take on today’s sound — tailored for discerning dancers and deep night movement, whatever set position they play.
