04:30 – End Chris Liebing
Sterling sounds and uncompromising Techno from Chris Liebing, Julian Muller aka MYLE, and Nastasia, who’ll leave no stone unturned on Museumsinsel on Saturday, 20 September.
There’s not much to add to Chris Liebing’s CV — the long-standing German Techno institution is a widely respected figure, with countless releases and numerous prestigious residencies throughout the 90s and early 2000s. His CLR imprint was arguably among the first labels to champion a wide-ranging blend of operations, combining record label, booking agency and podcast series, all framed by a distinct visual and sonic identity. He might have built his reputation on hard-edged, thunderous sounds, but has proven his creative versatility with a string of introspective and deep-digging releases. Even though there are plenty of merits and accolades to rest upon, the ever-inspired artist firmly believes there’s no better time for Techno than the present, because: > the best decade for Techno is now […]. The fact that, after 30 or 40 years of techno history, so many people are still on the dance floor is truly something wonderful. < With a firm eye on the communal sensation of dance, there are no signs of Chris Liebing stopping anytime soon.
Julian Muller’s alias MYLE opens up > a rare glimpse into the soul of a purist < — a personal mission to connect with Techno at its core, shunning social media, with nothing but sound at its heart, and a clear desire to let the music do the talking.
The final puzzle piece to this evening of unrelenting Techno is Nastasia. The Munich-based artist and WUT collective affiliate, working to make Munich’s nightlife safer and more inclusive, doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to music: step inside a world of immersive, stomping, jet-black rhythms and get moving.
