The self-proclaimed > happiest man in dance music < and founder of the notorious, loved and loathed Club Heart Broken, takes partying back to its basics: unadulterated joy. It’s taken him a while to fully commit to and confess to his love of upfront pop music that characterises his approach. From hearing the sounds of Ibiza’s Space as a kid on holiday, to relocating from Cologne to Berlin and struggling to connect with the capital’s sombre-sounding Techno scene in the late 2010s, it took a stay in New York to help him fully embrace his musical nature. He started Club Heart Broken as an outlet for his idea of dance music while he also lived together with Marlon Hoffstadt — and the rest is well known by now.
Sharing a few ideas about dance music with Malugi is LOVEFOXY, a Berliner durch und durch, born and raised just as she’s a House music devotee: > It’s always the right time to listen to house music, no matter the setting or vibe, and it’s always energizing <. Her mother, a dance music aficionado, ran a dance music club in Berlin in the 80s, and LOVEFOXY, just like Malugi, puts the joy back into dance and dance music and proves that the city offers way more than Techno.
Back home in Munich, the local upstarts & partners in crime ELPAWEL & INU G from the bubbling Monaco Dreams microcosmos don’t make much of genre tags and play colourful cuts across anything they consider with youthful verve and esprit.
