> Learn the rules but then break up […] because that’s what makes things interesting < could well be the mantra of UK-based, Irish-born Kerrie,  a philosophy that shapes both her production ethos and her musical trajectory.

Her fascination with dance music was sparked early on by her brothers, but she formally immersed herself in sound through a music production course in Manchester around 2010. After years of honing her craft in isolation and releasing on smaller imprints, she founded her own aptly titled label, Dark Machine Funk. Soon after, releases on seminal platforms like Blueprint Records, helmed by James Ruskin and Richard Polson, and Tresor followed, where she also holds a residency. Fitting homes for her uncompromising brand of techno.

Not one for over-reliance on the computer mouse, Kerrie’s tracks often begin with intuitive live jamming and the idea of performance already in mind. “I think it’s probably like a romantic idea […] a tactile thing,” she says, a sentiment that also echoes her fondness for vinyl culture. For our upcoming Klubnacht, she returns to what feels like her natural habitat: a live set.

She’s joined by our prolific resident Polygonia, widely regarded as one of techno’s freshest voices, alongside Dutch selector Sandrien and our close friend Steffi — two longstanding guarantors of sterling dance music.

On the PLUS floor, our booth points toward Chicago by way of NYC. livwutang, a Nowadays affiliate, traces her affinity for dubby, percussive grooves back to her father’s influence, yet it’s the offbeat charm of the music she seeks that defines her approach: > I feel like I haven’t seen people just playing the true weirdo shit as much […] but that’s what sticks in my brain and that’s what I love dancing to. <

When we say our resident BASHKKA (whose spent her formative years as an artist & personality in NYC, too!) and close friend Virginia complement the PLUS floor, it feels like an understatement, as both selectors shine with soulful, multifaceted selections.
