Anyone who’s witnessed Dax J at Blitz Club knows that Dax Heddon is in his element. March 14th marks yet another explosive, and perhaps his final, appearance at Blitz.
His path, however, could have unfolded very differently. From jungle and drum & bass roots and countless pirate radio sets to carving out his place as a producer who once kept a deliberate distance from four-to-the-floor music (“I used to think techno was uncool…”). His album „Offending Public Morality“ approached darker and introspective themes, but the dancefloor is where the Monnom Black really shines. Now we’re delighted to welcome him for his 12th appearance at Blitz Club, full of aphoridisiac & driving grooves!
He plays an extended set alongside fast-rising Argentinian selector Sol Ortega. Like Dax J’s early pirate broadcasts from kitchens, warehouses and garden huts, Ortega remains grounded, resisting relocation from Buenos Aires to global club capitals while balancing international touring with community work at home, including her Máquina Latina events.
Her latest Auguria EP on Mitsubasa is another great example of her music vision, blending dub- and Detroit-informed Techno, heavyweight yet with a remarkable sensibility for tempos, and she also plays an extended set.
