When the first record immediately marks the start of an anniversary release series of a world-famous, historic club, then that’s, undoubtedly, nothing less than a successful debut. The Berlin-based duo Fireground was granted this honour as part of Tresor’s 30th anniversary series in 2021. Such opportunities rarely go without a bit of luck, but the music speaks for itself. The two-piece plays and produces breezy and brisk Techno in the style of the late 90s with a strong sympathy for the characteristic Birmingham sound of that time, close to the borders of Electro, with almost House-like nonchalance. Powerfully articulated and nevertheless playful, lively and blithe. Angela and Daniele will whip us through the night at peak time with a live performance.

But we’ve got more good friends joining the party: Steffi and Luke Slater. Two seasoned and respected figures of our scene, who convince us set after set with decades of experience and an insatiable curiosity for new sounds and their interconnections. Steffi is in the final steps of the promotional phase of her album > The Red Hunter <, which will see the light of the day at the end of October and on which she deals with personal topics such as the death of her mother. The result? Gripping IDM that takes strong cues from Breakbeats, but still unmistakably Steffi. How will her opening set in our ballroom on the Museumsinsel shape up under this influence? Make sure to come early and we’ll find out together on the dancefloor. Closing the night is Vilfrom Portugal, whose stimulating, tribal techno style skilfully oscillates between trenchant electro grooves and spherical dub vibes at high speed.

Wenn der erste Release gleich den Auftakt einer Jubiläums-Releasereihe eines weltberühmten, historischen Clubs markiert, dann ist das nichts weniger als ein respektabler Einstand. Dem in Berlin ansässigen Duo Fireground wurde diese Ehre im Rahmen der Tresor 30Reihe im Jahr 2021 zuteil. Ein bisschen Glück gehört sicher immer zu solchen Releases, aber die Musik spricht für sich: luftiger und zügiger Techno im Stil der späten 90er mit deutlichen Zügen des charakteristischen Birminghamsounds ebendieser Zeit, an der Schnittstelle zum Electro, mit beinahe House-artiger Nonchalance. Kräftig artikuliert und nichtsdestotrotz spielerisch und quick lebendig interpretiert. Angela und Daniele werden uns zur Peaktime mit einem Live-Set durch die Nacht peitschen.

Mit Steffi und Luke Slater besuchen uns zwei wohlbekannte und immer gern gesehene Gäste im Blitz: Zwei gestandene und respektierte Figuren unserer Szene, die uns Set für Set mit jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung und unstillbarer Neugier für frische Klänge und deren Querverbindungen untereinander überzeugen. So steckt Steffi im Endspurt der Promophase ihres Ende Oktober erscheinenden Albums > The Red Hunter <, auf dem sie persönliche Themen wie den Tod ihrer Mutter verarbeitet. Das Ergebnis?
