We’re particularly excited how this night will shape up – we’ve got a bunch of unique techno-loving artists on the bill tonight! You all know what’s going to happen when Dax J enters the booth: it’s peak time, and it’s never going to end when Dax Heddon dishes out the hard hitting, pitch-black bangers with no end in sight.
Lena Willikens – a truly singular artist – might just be the polar opposite: the Salon D’amateurs resident whiz conjures up a very different sort of dark dance magic. Slow burning, her mixes meander all the way through the obscure corners of the musical universe in a dazzling and peculiar, highly artistic fashion, recontextualizing soundscapes and beats as you’ve rarely imagined, dare even heared them. Lena Willikens’ sets give „peaktime“ are a very different meaning and keep you at the very edge of your seats.

Opening the evening right before Lena Willikens, is Mor Elian, playing techno and electro with a peerless, off-kilter and futuristic twist and with a knack for jagged synths. She runs the esteemed Fever AM label, one of the techno underground’s most appealing labels, that is marked by a relentless desire to truly lift the undiscovered potential of the club sounds we’ve all grown to love. The same goes for her DJ-sets too: she keeps the ravers moving and the critics in awe. Dario Zenker proves that both of our well-loved residents the Zenker Brothers are stunning artists in their own right, with a steady hand on the infectious, dancefloor-moving grooves and a captivating sense for spherical textures.

Take a peek at all the great things cooking in Vienna’s bubbling subculture on the PLUS floor, where our very own vince, an adept selector from everything between house techno and pop is accompanied by the up-and-coming talents Katia Curie & Nizar Sarakbi that wow us with techno and a penchant for the sweeping and spacious vibes of the 90ies. And adding the final, yet essential touches to the evening is Muallem.

Der heutige Abend wartet gleich mit mehreren besonderen dramaturgischen Twists auf. Aber von vorne: Wenn Dax J die Booth betritt, wissen wir alle, was Sache es. Es ist Peaktime und es gibt kein Ende in Sicht, wenn in Dax Heddons einen Volltreffer nach dem anderen serviert. Nichts als knallharte, rabenschwarze Sounds, die Ihresgleichen suchen.
Ein paar Stunden früher am Abend: Lena Willikens. Das komplette Gegenteil von Dax J in Sachen Techno, womöglich? Die wahrlich einzigartige Künstlerin und Resident des Salon D’Amateurs raubt euch den Atem auf ganz andere Art und Weise: Ihre Sets bahnen sich den Weg durch die ungewöhnlichsten Ecken der Musikwelt und rekontextualisieren die erstaunlichsten Rhythmen und Klänge auf eine ganz und gar sonderbare, fesselnde Art, die man sich schwer vorstellen kann, wenn man sie nicht selbst erlebt hat. Lena Willikens spielt Peaktime auf ihre ganz eigene Art: Ihre musikalische Welt braucht weder wuchtige Kicks noch hohes Tempo, um euch in Ekstase zu versetzen.

Mor Elian eröffnet den Abend vor Lena Willikens und spielt Techno und Electro ebenfalls auf ganz eigene, subtil futuristische Art und Vorliebe für schroffe Synthesizer. Sie betreibt das aufregende Fever AM Label, das von der Neugier und Leidenschaft geprägt ist, zeitgenössischen und progressivem Entwürfen von Techno und Electro eine Plattform zu geben – mit demselben Drive glänzen eben auch ihre Sets. Dario Zenker wird euch mit Fingerspitzengefühl für treibende Grooves und ausladenden, sphärischen Texturen einmal mehr bewiesen, dass beide der verehrten Zenker Brothers auch faszinierende Solo-Künstler für sich sind.

Auf dem PLUS Floor könnt ihr euch ein Bild der lebendigen Wiener-Szene machen, die wir schon beim Unchained-Festival im Sommer zu Gast hatten: Unser Resident vince bringt die jungen Talente Katia Curie und Nizar Sarakbi mit, die gut und gerne mit kosmisch angehauchten Techno der 90er-Jahre überzeugen. Unser Hausherr Muallem wird dem Abend den letzten, unverzichtbaren Schliff geben: keiner kennt das Blitz so gut wie er!
