It’s a beautifully odd coincidence, that some of the most euphoric dance music comes from Northern Europe: take tonight’s guest Sansibar as a leading example! Don’t expect nordic noir or frozen cool from Helsinki’s Sunny Seppä. Because the Kaiku & Post Bar resident aims for pastel coloured (not the blinding, neon-bright coloured) and enthusiastic, summer rave night-vibes, dashing through cosmic early trance-tracks, pumping 90’s techno, breakbeats and flashy bursts of hardcore. Sansibar knows when and how to subtly sneak in a bit of muted gloom to contrast the boisterous rush of the bright and highly physical strains of his sets. His selections truly bang in style, without ever overshooting the mark.
CYRK from Berlin play a striking and heavily Detroit-indebted Electro and Techno hybrid with solid and earthy, driving grooves as well as lush and meticulously crafted soundscapes, reminiscent of Italo Disco’s blissed out and spherical end. Samy Goossens and Pascal Hetzel are gear nerds and make the very best of it: they bring their carpool on tour to embellish and bring to life all the intricate details of their music and to truly shake up our dance floor – and all Electro purists – in the heart of Munich.
And then of course, there’s a special anticipation in the air before Ryan Elliot & Tijana T’s back to back set: two of the contemporary scene’s great artists, at the junction of the ever vital polar house & techno continuum with blasts of acid, go head-to-head or better, back to back. Will the result be more than the sum of its parts, or will the two artists with their highly arresting, magnetic styles reject each other? With Ryan Elliot & Tijana Todorovic the question isn’t „Will it work out?“ But rather: „What’s it going to sound like?“ We’re counting the hours.

Es gehört zu den erfrischenden Zufällen, die das Leben so spannend machen, dass ein ungewöhnlich großer Anteil der euphorischten elektronischen Tanzmusik aus Nordeuropa kommt: Unser Gast Sansibar ist ein wunderbares Beispiel hierfür und auch nichts mit nordischer, kühler Strenge am Hut. Der Kaiku & Post Bar Resident aus Helsinki begeistert vielmehr mit farbenfrohen, Sommernachts-Rave-Vibes und spielt sich mit Hingabe durch kosmische Trance-Nummern, 90’s Techno, Breakbeats und schrillen Hardcore-Akzenten. Die Farbpalette dürft ihr euch dabei aber eher pastellfarben als neonleuchtend vorstellen. Nichtsdestotrotz weis Sunny Seppä, wie man gefühlvoll subtile und dunkle Kontraste für maximale Effekte setzt, ohne dabei je über’s Ziel hinaus zu schießen.

Samy Goossens und Pascal Hetzel sind Gearheads mit Leib und Seele und machen das Beste daraus, indem sie ihren Fuhrpark einfach mit auf Tour nehmen. Das Duo wird heute ein Live-Set spielen, um all die vielen und feinen musikalischen Details mit Hingabe und in Echtzeit auszuleuchten und unseren Dancefloor ordentlich in Schwung zu versetzen.
Last but not least, große Vorfreude auf das Gipfeltreffen von Ryan Elliot und Tijana T, zwei prominenten Vertreter*innen der internationalen House- und Technoszene. Natürlich stellt sich die übliche Frage, ob das Ergebnis letztlich mehr als die Summe seiner/ihrer Teile sein wird oder ob sich die sonst so magnetischen Styles der Szenegrößen eher abstoßen werden. Aber Ryan Elliot & Tijana T sind Teamplayer, von daher wird’s eher spannend, wo der Abend hinführen wird. Gut wird es sowieso, versprochen.
