A fair share of the best evenings we can remember at Blitz were connected to Helena Hauff. She’s enjoyed a well deserved rise to fame over the recent years and it’s been a joy to watch the revered selector refine her talents and skill – her latest EP > Living With Ladybirds < from last November once again proves her appeal.
Dark, fast and punishing electronic dance music is enjoying much popularity nowadays but Helena Hauff adds a refreshingly gritty and rough, but most important: a decidedly > real < perspective to it. She plays sinister and cold, yet burning Acid, EBM and Electro with a pronounced warm analogue feeling to it – the punk origins of Hamburg’s Golden Pudel club where she held a long time residency still shine through. It goes without further ado, that you’ll find nothing but hard wax on he decks. Helena Hauff works the turnstables the old-school way. It’s impossible to escape the black and lethal magic of Helena Hauff, no matter how light and bright you’d usually like your dance music.
Galaxian’s music is nothing for the faint-hearted either. Lauded among peers such as Aphex Twin, DJ Stingray and Helena Hauff herself, with releases on labels such as Ilian Tape or Return To Disorder, you’d better make sure your seatbelts are properly fastened. Galaxian plays and produces a strong brew of futuristic electro that’s just as psychedelic, cinematic and hallucinatory as well as propulsive, demanding and utterly rewarding. There’s a lot to discover if you dare to take a ride. We’re utterly excited about Galaxian’s live set tonight and you should be too.
You might have already guessed: this evening calls for the superpowers of our very own techno-alchemists Stenny and vince. Both are capable of plowing through the rich fields of electronic dance music at breakneck speed to heat up the dancefloor in style. vince will make sure to set the right mood during the opening set whereas Stenny will surely light up the acoustic fireworks later on during the night.

Eine vergleichsweise hoher Anteil der besten Abende, die wir im Blitz erlebt haben, sind mit Helena Hauff verbunden. In den letzten Jahren hat sie in einen kometenhaften Aufstieg durchlebt und wir haben ihn mit großer Freude mit begleitet – und freuen uns darauf, sie nach Jahren der pandemischen Pause wieder im Blitz begrüßen zu dürfen: Zumal sie mit dem Release ihrer letzten EP > Living With Ladybirds < wieder bewiesen hat, dass sie aktuell wieder in Bestform unterwegs ist.
Treibende, dunkle und drückende elektronische Tanzmusik erfreut sich aktuell größter Beliebtheit und Helena Hauff ergänzt das Spektakel um eine erfrischend grobkörnige und analoge Perspektive. Sie spielt rabenschwarzen und kühlen, stechenden Acid, EBM & Electro der trockenen und realen Sorte – der Punk-Background ihrer langjährigen Residency im Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg bleibt dabei auf sympathische Art merklich zu hören.
Der schwarzen, verlockend-bedrohlichen Magie von Helena Hauff’s Sets kann sich niemand entziehen, egal wie heiter und luftig man sonst Tanzmusik mag.
Die Musik von Galaxian ist ebenfalls nichts für schwache Nerven. Mit Veröffentlichungen auf Labels wie Ilian Tape oder Return To Disorder, die von Kollegen wie Aphex Twin, DJ Stingray und Helena Hauff selbst gelobt werden, solltet ihr euch besser ordentlich anschnallen. Denn Galaxian braut eine kräftige Mischung aus futuristischem Elektro, die gleichermaßen halluzinatorisch wie cineastisch, als auch hochgradig sinnesanregend ist. Heute spielt Galaxian Live im Blitz und wer sich auf den wilden Ritt einlässt, wird reich belohnt.
Ein solcher Abend schreit geradezu nach unseren beiden Residents Stenny und vince, die den Abend stimmungsvoll eröffnen werden und später auch eine ganze Reihe musikalischer Feuerwerkskörper aus Techno, Bass, Breaks und IDM abfeuern werden.
