Step into a world of contemporary techno, navigating the past, present and future and lose yourself in the spellbinding rhythms of Francois X, Glaskin, Salome, and Rene Wise. Whatever flavour you like your techno, we’ve got you covered tonight.
Francois X is often credited as one of the current techno scene’s visionary artists and for being an ambassador of a revitalized, French techno scene, especially in Paris – how come? Well, he understands functional techno with its possibilities and boundaries and injects a subtle, yet highly refreshing futurism into its tried, tested and beloved form, deployed against an old-school but highly effective take on dynamic handling. Francois X sets feel familiar in the best of ways with the innovations well-placed in its crevices and details, with dazzling textures, dramaturges and rhythmic accents ahead of their time all waiting to be discovered by the attentive listener.
SALOME remoulds many of today’s influential dance music genres into a thrilling, state-of-the-art fusion of techno, while Rene Wise aims for a contemporary approach to 90s flavoured Techno enduring appeal. Both artists present exhilarating and sweeping, yet very different personal styles, that create a beguiling friction energy. Salome Takaishvili, the Herrensauna and Tbilisi native, play banging, heavy breakbeats and syncopated electro-beats at high speed and dashes of trance with fast twists, turns and a neon-coloured sound aesthetic that shines bright at night. Rene Wise keeps the pace, though aims for classic, slow-building and burning dramaturgies that slowly mingles pulsating rhythms and various shades of dim and grey, ominous sounds for truly intriguing and intense, euphoric results.
