Bjarki, Mama Snake and Stenny are all good friends and welcome regulars at Blitz and always guarantee ecstatic nights. However, we are particularly excited about the mix of the three artists tonight: they’re all known for snappy, contemporary techno and masters at balancing futuristic and sleek aesthetics with colossal bass power as well as spherical counterpoints. And everyone adds their own spin to the powerful formula.
Stenny recently and once again proved his class with his new track “Kembow”: characterized by a dystopian mood, the machines and rhythms oscillate in the most diverse patterns and rock back and forth between bass, IDM & dragged-out breakbeats in a menacing manner.
Does Mama Snake’s razor-sharp mixing have anything to do with her day job as a surgeon? Perhaps. Or does her distinct feeling for the flow on the dancefloor, which she directs with trance-oriented melodies and harmonies, also has something to do with it? It’s likely – the best doctors are often those who score high points with empathy and knowledge of human nature. Mama Snake has both in abundance and this mixture makes her a highlight on every dancefloor. Bjarki’s aesthetic is highly explosive and yet ice-cool, bulky although full of details, marked by cosmic mysticism and a plastic materialism. A unique blend that always unfolds fabulously on our dancefloor.

Bjarki, Mama Snake und Stenny sind allesamt gute Freund*innen und gern gesehene Stammgäste im Blitz, die ihr sicher nicht zum ersten Mal über unserer Anlage auf der Museumsinsel hört. Auf die Mischung unserer drei Bekannten sind jedoch besonders gespannt: Denn alle spielen flotten Techno auf der Höhe der Zeit und schaffen den Spagat zwischen der futuristischen Stromlinienform und kolossaler Bassgewalt, aber auch sphärischen Kontrapunkten. Alle mit ihren eigenen, persönlichen Schwerpunkten. So stellte Stenny erst neulich mit dem neuen Titel „Kembow“ einmal mehr seine Klasse unter Beweis: geprägt von einer drückend-dystopischen Stimmung wabern und pulsieren die Maschinen und unterschiedlichsten Rhythmen in bedrohlich-begeisternder Manier zwischen Bass, IDM & verschleppten Breakbeats.
Ob Mama Snakes messerscharfes Mixing mit ihrem Dayjob als Chirurgin zu tun hat? Gut möglich. Ob ihr ausgeprägtes Gespür für den Flow auf Dancefloor, den sie mit Trance-orienterten Melodien & Harmonien lenkt auch damit zu tun hat? Auch gut möglich – die besten Mediziner sind oft solche, die mit Emphatie und Menschenkenntnis punkten. Beides hat Mama Snake zuhauf und diese Mischung macht sie zu einem Highlight auf jedem Dancefloor. Bjarki Ästhetik ist hochexplosiv und doch unterkühlt, wuchtig und voller Details, von kosmischer Mystik und gleichzeitig von plastischer Materialität gezeichnet.
