We’re delighted to invite James Holden for a live show at Blitz – after all, he’s arguably the most iridescent figure of the late 00’s scene that fused IDM, as well as organic, Krautrock orientated experimentalism with a tender Indie-Dance sensibility for a kaleidoscopic and captivating, humanoid approach of techno.
He recently returned with > Imagine This Is A High Dimensional Space Of All Possibilities <, an album, a utopian design of his teenage perception of rave and the refined organic sensibility he sharpened with his experiments in Free Jazz, Psychedelica and Moroccan Gnawa music. An album filled with references to John Cale & the Pop-avantgarde, German Krautrock à Popol Vuh and 90’s ambient akin to Andrew Weatherall’s Sabres of Paradise, that get a club-ready rework and adaption for today’s dance floor. James Holden is an elder statesman in excellent shape – we invite you to take part in a thrilling journey and an evocative day, or better, early-evening dream!
Mall Grab, DJ Heartstring & Sascha Sibler pull out the big guns afterwards. Jordan Alexander, the former lofi- house icon has turned into a storming all-in, rampant rave-machine that knows how to blend driving techno with full-bodied funk, and DJ Heartstring, are probably by far the smartest ambassadors of the current wave of joyous, adolescent Trance & Techno liaison, yeah yeah! Fusing all these different musical approaches together in style is our versatile resident Sascha Sibler: He’ll take you on a ride from James Holden’s smooth IDM to Mall Grab’s & DJ Heartstring’s full on belters!
