02:00 – 04:00 Grooverider

04:00 – END  Doc Scott

Unfortunately, Goldie had to cancel his performance at Blitz tonight. We’re more than happy to announce that Grooverider will step in to share the night with Stenny and Doc Scott.

(Drum&)Bass heads rejoice! Two of the UK’s seminal dance music figures, Goldie and Doc Scott are coming to Blitz in June! Ready to skank? We are! Our Italian Wirbelwind Stenny will take you through the warm-up exercises and will prepare you accordingly.

Clifford Joseph Price aka Goldie and Doc Scott have shaped Jungle and arguably gave birth to Drum & Bass – the two seminal figures are connected by a long friendship and their work on the influential Metalheadz imprint. Whereas Goldie became the face of drum & bass he has reshaped the sound with his productions and compositions more than just once. Think of Terminator, Angel and Timeless, on which he proved the (hardcore-originated) genre’s capabilities of profound musical depth, taking cues and influences from sophisticated jazz, dub, soulful R&B and his breakdance- & graffiti roots.
Doc Scott has been working on similarly groundbreaking productions, but is (very) best remembered as a DJ’s DJ. He recontextualizes tunes and grooves in surprising and refreshing ways, and has been an important player in shaping the dark, mid-90s jungle sound we’ve grown to love.
> Im a DJ who makes music, always a DJ first. < Is what Doc Scott says about himself and it’s impossible to overhead the relentless gigging and touring he did all over Britain’s rave scene in the 90s and Europe shortly after that shaped his dexterous skills on the decks.
Our resident Stenny is probably the most vivacious regular of our ranks, known for driving and rushing, truly exhilarating sets. Heavily influenced by the bass and breaks movements that Goldie and Doc Scott significantly shaped, Stenny’ll be the icing on the cake tonight. He’ll add a few different exuberant yet witty, hi-speed perspectives to this memorable evening.
