„When we play, we never really know what’s going to happen. We’re very much in tune with each other since we’ve been doing this for over 20 years now. The beauty of it is that every set is completely unique.” is how Chris Liebing describes the collaborative magic of Collabs 3000, the collaboration project with Jochem Paap aka Speedy J.
Their first meeting at Frankfurt’s U60311 in 2001, Liebing mixing out of a Speedy J live set, Paap responding in real time from the decks, became part of Frankfurt clubbing folklore. A session at Paap’s Rotterdam studio followed, yielding “Collabs 300” on Novamute (2004) and eventually “Collabs 3000 (Metalism)”, a long player on Novamute, described as: „polished, uncompromising and dynamite for any large sound system.” by Resident Advisor. Revived in 2024, the project continues and we’re delighted to welcome the collaboration of the two influential figures to Blitz in June.

Providing a fresh and young counterpoint to the night is Artifex, who relocated to Berlin, after her first steps of DJing in Munich. Committed to honouring Techno’s timeless traits and its mesmerising appeal, balancing hypnotic appeal & driving rhythms, she has formed her own series RISE to support fellow upcoming Flinta* artists on their path.
