We are looking forward of a night full of stimulating contrasts with three unique artistic personalities and we are extremely curious to see how they will react to each other. Let’s start with Marcel Dettmann. He is anything but unknown and easily one of the most defining figures in recent techno history. His work as a DJ and producer had, and still has, a major impact on the capital’s current techno sound and his residencies at Ostgut and Berghain played a seminal role in shaping today’s aesthetic perception of dance music. His raw, minimalist personal style is concrete funk at it’s best. Marcel Dettmann lets the shades of grey groove in the most diverse forms and always has a few surprises and unexpected twists up his sleeve. It’s not for nothing that we eagerly await his upcoming return to our Blitz-ballroom.
Krystal Klear stands for bright, neon-coloured and melodic 80ies-inspired house sound with pop appeal, while all the same being tightly focused on the dancefloor. He gives the classic old-school sound a contemporary update, incorporating references from New Wave and Electro, but also UK garage, making him a sought-after guest in the world’s scene clubs and festivals. Maruwa from Frankfurt pursues an exciting agenda all her own, and her approach can be read as the synthesis of the two internationally renowned DJs discussed earlier tonight: She melts red-hot, breakbeat-inspired techno & hardcore sounds and decidedly dancefloor-oriented house-jams into a distinct, highly individual as well as driving and at the same time joyfully-carefree melange.

Wir freuen uns auf eine Nacht voller anregender Kontraste mit drei Künstlerpersönlichkeiten, bei denen wir außerordentlich gespannt sind, wie sie aufeinander reagieren werden. Marcel Dettmann ist, gelinde gesagt, alles andere als ein Unbekannter und gehört zu den stilprägendsten Figuren der neueren Techno-Geschichte. Mit seinen Residencies im Ostgut und dem Berghain hat der einflussreiche DJ & Producer den aktuellen Techno-Sound der Hauptstadt maßgeblich mitgeprägt. Sein roher, minimalistischer Personalstil ist Concrete Funk im besten Sinne, denn Marcel Dettmann lässt die Grautöne in den vielfältigsten Formen grooven und hat immer ein paar Überraschungen und unerwartete Wendungen im Gepäck. Nicht umsonst freuen wir uns jedes Mal wieder auf den Ausflug im Blitz mit ihm.
