The next rendition of our > Ghosts on Acid < series for spacious and blissed-out House music is just around the corner, this time with an extended set from Apollonia, Melody and Lavandonia! Dream and dance away into the wee hours with a stunning line-up of passionate and discerning selectors, proving that contemporary dance music doesn’t need high speed and overblown kicks, but soul and nuance to work its magic.
Blurring the lines between DJ outfit and imprint are Apollonia. Consisting of Shonky, Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom, the form-fluid collaboration restores our faith in the concept of so the called > supergroup <. With all three members being revered selectors and producers in their own right, their extended back to back to back performances as Apollonia guarantee discerning sets with thrilling music, rounded out by the joyful dynamics of a group of friends just downright enjoying themselves. This is high-grade and perfectly crafted Techhouse with that amicable drive for an unfurled sensation. The name Apollonia also harks back to the Ancient Greek god Apollon, also known as the god of music and dance. A good omen, right?
As it’s only a stone throw from Apollon to Melōdía, the greek word for melody, it’s only fitting therefore that Apollonia are joined by fellow French DJ Melody – the young and bright artist has developed a forward-leaning and punchy, Electro- and Breaks infused blend of 90’s indebted Techhouse.
Lavandonia is no stranger to our club any more, as Jessica Torres Techhouse-focussed alias has seen a whole string of consistent and thrilling gigs in less than a year after her debut on the Museumsinsel. She has just founded her own imprint alongside fellow Munich based Italian selectors Alles Andere and Alessio Barletta dubbed > Discontinuous <. Made from (vinyl) diggers for diggers, the label aims to release music of extraordinary grooves for singular dancefloor moments – with the imprint’s title being a semi ironic hint at the founding members discontinuous lifestyles.

Die zweite > Ghosts on Acid < Nacht, unserer neuen Reihe für psychedelische House-Sounds steht bevor! Einer Reihe für ausgezeichnete DJs, die mit Maß und Gefühl punkten und sich als ausgewiesene (Vinyl-)Digger bewährt haben. Eine Reihe für luftige Grooves, mit Soul und Liebe zum Detail! Im März huldigen Apollonia, Lavandonia und Melody den > Ghosts on Acid <.
Shonky, Dan Ghenacia und Dyed Soundroom sind DJ-Kollektiv wie Label in einem und können durchaus als Supergroup bezeichnet werden. Alle drei Künstler sind angesehene DJs und Produzenten, sowohl allein als auch im Kollektiv – ihre ausgiebigen back to back to back Sets sind üppig, mitreißend und gezeichnet von der freundschaftlichen Euphorie und Dynamik, welche die drei Künstler miteinander verbindet. Gespielt wird Minimal (Tech-)House der hochkarätigen Sorte. Grooves für die transzendenten Momente auf dem Dancefloor!
Vom Namensgebenden, griechischen Gott der Musik und des Tanzes, Apollon, zu Melōdía ist es nicht mehr weit. So teilen sich Apollonia im März die Booth mit der jungen französischen Kollegin Melody. Die junge Künstlerin besticht mit kraftvollem Techhouse im Geist der 90er, mit Einflüssen von Breaks & Electro.
Das Opening legen wir in die gewandten Hände von Lavandonia. Jessica Torres kann, nur knapp ein Jahr nach ihrem Debüt im Blitz, auf eine ganze Reihe gelungener Sets zurückblicken. Zusammen mit den italienischen Kollegen Alessio Barletta & Alles Andere hat sie soeben ihr eigenes Label > Discontinuous < gegründet. Ein Label mit Hang zu außergewöhnlichen und doch sympathisch-unscheinbaren Grooves. Ein Label von Vinyl-DJs für Vinyl-DJs, aber auch von Kennern für Kenner. Inklusive namensgebenden, ironischen Verweis auf die diskontinuierlichen Lebenswege der Labelgründer:innen.
