Intimacy Quarterly is a new concert series in Munich. It takes place four times a year in Munich’s techno club Blitz. For the second episode, in midsummer, we move the event to the club’s garden. Weeping willows, hydrangea bushes, a campfire and an unobstructed view of the Isar: with our event, we want to bring a bit of calm to the over-excited cultural scene and show on an early Sunday evening two artists* who dedicate themselves to the deep, tender sounds.

Intimacy Quarterly asks the question about the distance between us, and wants to open a space that allows these questions with the help of experimental, often abstract pop music. Intimacy Quarterly is also meant to be a place of calm and concentration, this time especially: we have Trustfall from Paris as guest, the composer, visual artist and performer will show solo, via guitar and vocals, his fine compositions. Before that, Munich- based artist Paulina Nolte will perform, she will perform parts of her latest work Persimone live, her self-made bells and her indulgent costumes will also be heard and seen. Slovva will play a DJ set. The evening will open, as with every episode, with an introduction by Mira Mann.

Trustfall
Trustfall is a Paris- based artist, musician, composer and performer. Since his 2020 self- titled album was released to critical acclaim, he has toured internationally and become a sought- after session and live musician in both pop- forward and improvisational contexts. His fine art works have been exhibited in Beirut, Frankfurt and New York, and forthcoming 2022 projects include a large- scale opera, a collaboration with choreographer Dalila Belaza for Festival d’Avignon, his debut film role, and a follow-up to the Trustfall LP.

Paulina Nolte
Roughly recorded, cut up and layered into experimental collages, artist Paulina Nolte’s soundscapes act as a score to her performative work. By playfully using field recordings, sculptures, synths, guitars and her voice, she intuitively links sounds together, like brittle joints of gravel knees. Invited by Plus X on Radio Cashmere, Paulina’s latest sound piece PERSIMONE was born and released on NYC based cassette label Decontrol. She also performs in the band What Are People For?

Mira Mann
is an author, musician and booker, who published her solo debut “Ich mag das” in 2019. Her style is raw and intimate, her artistic work starts from her body, invests itself as the central means of her expression. Mira Mann is the host of „Intimacy Quarterly“ and currently working on her new album „weich“, which will be released in Feb 2023.

Slovva
(Maria Margolina) is a media artist, musician and DJ. In her work she uses various media and techniques, including sound, video and coding. As a DJ, she’s experimenting around with a variety of different styles. Not bound to any specific genre, she’s looking for a narrative in her own sets. Since 2020 she is part of the Munich based online-community Radio “Radio 80000” where she’s having a bi-monthly show called „Hyped Up Plus Tax“ herself.
