On 30.3, the composer Ellen Arkbro from Stockholm will be our guest at Blitz, when the Intimacy Quarterly concert series finally returns to Blitz. This evening, she will present her minimalist compositions in a new set on the club’s dance floor. Before that, the Munich artist and musician Anna Schübel will play one of her rare concerts. Veronica Burnuthian, known in the Munich scene mainly as a member of Friends of Gas and visual artist, frames the evening with a DJ set, Mira Mann opens it with a musical introduction.

Ellen Arkbro
is a Swedish avant-garde composer and sound artist currently based in Berlin. Her main instrument is the pipe organ, she composes for various instruments and works with synthetic sound. In 2017 she was working on a composition for a brass trio and a Renaissance organ for the album “for organ and brass”. Her second album “CHORDS” was released in 2019. Her music interacts the harmonic sound with the acoustic architecture of the space and changes in different ways as the listener moves through the sound. At Intimacy Quarterly she will play with a new set up.

Anna Schübel
The multimedia artist lives in Munich and Berlin and works at the interfaces of sound, performance, installation and photography.
She explores sound and space in multidimensional installations and performances. She experiments with different genres and instruments and the fusion of field recordings, tape loops and fragmented sounds.
She is co-curator of the exhibition project drift in Munich and part of the performance and sound art collective Dynamic Acoustic Research (DAF).

Veronica Burnuthian
is an artist, musician and performer, born in Yerevan, Armenia and raised in Brussels, Belgium. She plays noise guitar with the legendary Friends Of Gas, bass and vocals with the FLINTA* duo Spinnen and makes oriental-cyber-techno with the project TAF Turkish-Armenian Friendship together with artist Gülbin Ünlü. With her life partner Aelita Le Quément she produces electronic IDM progressive glitchcore with analogue synthesizers under the name Panty Paradise “queer-transbian-art machine”, they released their debut album “We Kissed” on Höllenfrau Records this year. For Intimacy Quarterly she plays a unique DJ set.

Mira Mann
the musician and author released her debut album “weich” on 24.02.2023. Her style is raw and intimate, her artistic work starts from her body and makes it the central means of expression. Mira Mann is the host of Intimacy Quarterly and opens each evening with a 10-15 minute introduction.

Am 30.3. ist die Komponistin Ellen Arkbro aus Stockholm zu Gast im Blitz, wenn die Intimacy Quarterly Reihe zurück in unseren Club kehrt. An diesem Abend zeigt sie ihre minimalistischen Kompositionen in einem neuen Set auf dem Dancefloor des Clubs. Davor spielt die Münchner Künstlerin und Musikerin Anna Schübel eines ihrer seltenen Konzerte. Die in der Münchner Szene vor allem als Mitglied der Friends of Gas und bildende Künstlerin bekannte Veronica Burnuthian rahmt den Abend mit einem DJ-Set, Mira Mann eröffnet ihn mit einer musikalischen Einleitung.

Die Veranstaltung wird gefördert vom Musikfonds e.V. mit Projektmitteln der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien und der Landeshauptstadt München.

Ellen Arkbro
ist eine schwedische Avantgarde-Komponistin und Sound-Künstlerin, die derzeit in Berlin lebt. Ihr Hauptinstrument ist die Pfeifenorgel, komponiert für akustische Instrumente und arbeitet mit synthetischem Sound. 2017 erarbeitet sie für das Album „for organ and brass“ eine Komposition für ein Brass-Trio und eine Renaissance-Orgel. Ihr zweites Album „CHORDS“ erscheint 2019. Ihre Musik interagiert der harmonische Klang mit der akustischen Architektur des Raums und verändert sich auf unterschiedliche Weise, wenn sich der/die Zuhörer:in durch den Klang bewegt. Bei Intimacy Quarterly wird sie mit einem neuen Set Up spielen.

Anna Schübel
Die Multimedia-Künstlerin lebt in München und Berlin und arbeitet an den Schnittstellen von Sound, Performance, Installation und Fotografie.
Sie erforscht Klang und Raum in mehrdimensionalen Installationen und Performances. Sie experimentiert mit verschiedenen Genres und Instrumenten und der Verschmelzung von Field Recordings, Tonband Schleifen und fragmentierten Klängen.
Sie ist Co-Kuratorin des Ausstellungsprojekts drift in München und Teil des Performance- und Klangkunstkollektiv Dynamische Akustische Forschung (DAF).

Veronica Burnuthian
ist eine Künstler*in, Musiker*in und Performer*in, geboren in Jerewan, Armenien und aufgewachsen in Brüssel, Belgien. Sie spielt Noise-Gitarre bei den legendären Friends Of Gas, Bass und Gesang bei dem FLINTA*-Duo Spinnen und macht Orient-Cyber-Techno bei dem Projekt TAF Türkisch-Armenische-Freundschaft zusammen mit Künstler*in Gülbin Ünlü. Mit ihrer Lebenspartner*in Aelita Le Quément produziert sie Elektronische IDM Progressive Glitchcore mit analogen Synthesizern unter dem Namen Panty Paradise “queer-transbian-art machine”, sie veröffentlichten dieses Jahr Ihr Debütalbum “We Kissed” bei Höllenfrau Records. Für Intimacy Quarterly spielt sie ein einzigartiges DJ-Set.

Mira Mann
die Musikerin und Autorin hat am 24.02.2023 ihr Debütalbum “weich” veröffentlicht. Ihr Stil ist roh und intim, ihre künstlerische Arbeit geht von ihrem Körper aus und macht ihn zum zentralen Ausdrucksmittel. Mira Mann ist Gastgeberin von Intimacy Quarterly und eröffnet die Abende jeweils mit einer 10-15 minütigen Introduction.
