After last year’s success, we’re happy to celebrate not just one, but two evenings of Munich’s Jazzfest this November! Blitz’s high-precision sound and room design and Jazz music’s highly refined, present day musicianship prove to be a fruitful combination and we’re happy to open our doors for another evening full of stunning and current crossover-jazz blends that scrape dance music, pop and many more influences.
On the bill for the first evening: Full Bloom, affiliates of our good friends and internationally recognised dance music institution, the infamous Ilian Tape label. Full Bloom is an experimental sound collective traveling through polyrhythmic timezones. Broken Rhodes chords meet psychedelic soundscapes, polyrhythmic breakbeats and juicy bass-lines. Their music is deeply rooted in the aesthetics of Jazz, Hip Hop, Afrobeat and Dub.
Ochepovsky Project is one of the biggest discoveries of the Czech jazz and alternative scene. Composer and guitarist Igor Ochepovsky surrounds himself with excellent musicians of a wide range of genres, creating original and eclectic music with a mix of jazz, neo-soul, hip hop and pop.
Stromschlag!’s live-wire performances which move between electronic music and jazz are formed by three distinctive musicians with very different backgrounds. Mario Schönhofer from STRÖME on the Moog, Trio Elf’s Gerwin Eisenhauer on drums and Passport-keyboarder Michael Hornek on more classic synths and the Fender Rhodes improvise freely and travel the stratosphere of dance music genres such as Techno & House, but also Drum’n’Bass and Trap. Without any loops or prearranged patterns, the trio plays it the old-fashioned way for maximum immediacy and impact.
