Panic at the Disco? Kind of: the Emos from CoreChaos are back to take over our dancefloor — quite literally, because there’s no stage in sight. Get ready for a rousing live (floor9 show featuring American Emo revival trailblazers The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, alongside local songwriter darling Bateau and the oddball crew from Beach Church. As with all CoreChaos shows, the night follows a flexible “pay what you can” policy — to make sure everyone can join the party.

Carrying what might be the most evocative band name in recent memory, The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die have been spearheading the 2010s Emo revival with a widescreen, yet raw and heartfelt sound, and a reputation for passionate, high-energy live sets. Joining them: Bateau, former member of Sandlotkids, dubbed “the emo trumpet of the nation”, whose loop-based performances hit emotional levels of 11. And 20 years after their brief but iconic breakout on scene platforms like PureVolume, the ever-evolving Beach Church return with yet another lineup, a postmodern take on Emo songwriting, and a bag full of surprises: stirring, irritating and oddly touching.
