Driven by the fundamental human intuition of rhythm, the title of Chlär’s imprint > Primal Instinct < is a nod to the primordial and constitutional force of rhythm and groove, which arguably birthed music as we know it today.

Fascinated by the juxtaposition of Techno with its innovative, technological stance and the evolutionary impulses it unleashes through rhythmic patterns, the label pursues a digital yet organic sound designed to rewire both brain and feet. Chlär’s musical approach can be read as a proof of concept for the label’s formula and is centred on the (de)construction of elaborate loop-based patterns that drive his storytelling. Alarico, Primal Instinct Co-Founder and Chlär’s partner in Funk Assault joins with sharp, fast rhythms shaped by the raw sounds and ethos of 90s Techno and Hip-Hop’s early forefathers.
One of the Hayes Collective’s driving forces, Temudo brings a live set that showcases his laser-focused Techno craftsmanship, honed through work as a mastering engineer, studies in Sound & Technology, and a background in Jazz.
Last but not least, Tresor and Post-Bar resident Paula Koski completes the lineup with an obsidian-tinted, fast-paced take on grooving and hypnotic Techno.

Der Name von Chlärs Label Primal Instinct verweist auf den urmenschlichen rhythmischen Instinkte und Impulse, die Musik in ihrer heutigen Form wohl erstmals ermöglicht haben

Das Label beschäftigt sich mit dem Spannungsfeld zwischen Technologie und den evolutionären Kräften, die sich in rhythmischen Mustern entfalten. Es verfolgt einen digitalen und zugleich organischen Sound, der Körper und Geist gleichermaßen aktiviert. Chlärs Ansatz verkörpert diese Idee, indem er komplexe, loopbasierte Strukturen konstruiert und dekonstruiert und daraus narrative DJ-Sets schlägt.
Alarico, Mitgründer von Primal Instinct und Partner in Funk Assault, ergänzt das Lineup mit schnellen, kantigen Rhythmen, inspiriert von 90s Techno und den frühen Einflüssen von Hip-Hop.
Temudo, Teil des Hayes Collective, zeigt in seinem Live-Set fokussiertes Techno-Crafting, geprägt von seiner Tätigkeit als Mastering Engineer, einem Studium in Sound & Technology sowie einem Hintergrund im Jazz. Abgerundet wird das Line-up von Paula Koski, Resident von Tresor und Post-Bar, die für schnellen, hypnotischen Techno mit dunkler Färbung steht.
