Nuremberg might not be the first place to look when in search for vibrant electronic music scenes. But, don’t be fooled: There’s a lot happening beneath the radar. Our friends from Pulsår put the Franconian (let’s save the debate whether to call it Bavarian too) city on the map with thoughtfully curated events and festivals that have established a nationwide following with well regarded and hotly tipped raves. What started out with all the best intentions – a group of friends throwing non-commercial parties purely for the fun of it – now bring us an assorted line-up that represents the diverse Pulsår style, marked by agile and breezy hybrids of house and techno, that suit our perception of dance music at Blitz. And that’s a contemporary, socially diverse and musically multifaceted mix of all the great things bubbling in the electronic dance music scene right now.

Both Blitz and Pulsår believe there’s still a long way to go for Bavaria when it comes to diversity, equality and the recognition of electronic dance music culture. And our friends from Pulsår work hard to build an infrastructure and community in Nuremberg that supports and fights for these important social issues.
So let’s celebrate seven years of Pulsår with the hyped and trance-infused techno sounds of DJ Heartstring, among Germany’s current shooting stars right now as well as the sensual yet bass-loving deep house mix from Carista. Or the cosmic Italo-disco & house excursions from Cocktail D’amore resident and ESP Institute affiliate Juan Ramos and furthermore Berlin based duo Sound Metaphors.
We call to all ravers, Bavarian, Franconian or elsewhere for what’s promising to be nothing but another ecstatic party night!

Nürnberg hattet ihr wahrscheinlich (noch) nicht als elektronische Musik-Metropole auf dem Schirm, aber lasst euch davon nicht täuschen: Im Underground geht (wie so oft!) einiges ab. Unsere Freund*innen von Pulsår machen die fränkische Großstadt mit sorgfältig kuratierten Parties und Festivals mehr und mehr zum beliebten, überregionalen Ziel für DJs und Tanzfreund*innen. Was als kleines, leidenschaftliches Party-Kollektiv startete, feiert am Freitag, den 9.12 im Blitz seinen inzwischen siebten Geburstag und bringt uns ein vielseitiges Lineup, das an der Schnittstelle des luftigen und agilen, House- und Techno orientierten Pulsår Sounds und des Blitz-Programms agiert. Dazu gehört natürlich auch, dass es sich um ein sozial wie musikalisch diverses Programm handelt, dass die spannendsten Entwicklungen der Szene im Blick hat.

Wir im Blitz und auch unsere Freund*innen von Pulsår glauben daran, dass wir in Punkto Diversität und Gleichberechtigung, aber auch der Wertschätzung unserer Musikszene in Bayern noch einen weiteren Weg vor uns haben. Die Pulsår-Happenings setzen sich mit ihrem Programm dafür ein, in Nordbayern ein Bewusstsein für diese Themen, aber auch die notwendige Szene-Infrastruktur, zu schaffen. Denn: solange es von führenden Politiker*innen in Bayern Aussagen wie > Sie können ja zuhause mit Ihrer Partnerin tanzen < gibt, müssen “wir” unseren Beitrag zur Gesellschaft noch deutlicher formulieren.

Aber alle großen gesellschaftlichen und politischen Fragen beiseite: Lasst uns sieben Jahre Pulsår feiern, mit Acts wie den Trance-Techno-Shootingstars DJ Heartstring und dem sinnlichen, bass-lastigen Deep House von Carista, als auch den kosmischen Italo-Disco Trips vom Cocktail D’Amore Resident und ESP Institute Affiliate Juan Ramos und dem Berliner Duo Sound Metaphors. Wir rufen zum bayerisch-fränkischen, aber wie immer auch international-kosmopolitischen Tanz auf.
