In May 2026, the music series TUNE (Haus der Kunst) and the festival RITOURNELLE (Blitz Music Club, Münchner Kammerspiele, among others) join forces for the first time. Presented within the framework of the contemporary art festival Various Others, TUNE X RITOURNELLE unfolds across three consecutive evenings, establishing a multifaceted musical program at the intersection of art and club culture.

The official closing party of Various Others takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Blitz Music Club in the Deutsches Museum — a venue that has profoundly shaped Munich’s club culture and will close its doors permanently this August. Titled RITOURNELLE X TUNE, the evening is both celebration and farewell. The lineup brings together defining voices in contemporary electronic music:
Nkisi, co-founder of NON Worldwide, interweaves polyrhythmic structures, kraut-inflected spiritual synth textures, and radical techno approaches into a singular, multifaceted sound. Frequently working within dance and performance contexts — including collaborations with choreographer Tiran Willemse — she inaugurated the TUNE series in Munich in 2021. The legendary voice of dub poet Tikiman (aka Paul St. Hilaire) — which enveloped seminal Basic Channel releases of the 1990s in a haze of depth and resonance — meets DJ Richard Akingbehin to create a low-frequency echo chamber between reggae, dub, and techno, suspended between futurism and memory. Blawan has spent over a decade shaping a universe entirely his own. Since debuting on XL Recordings in 2021 with Woke Up Right Handed, he has continued to push his sound into ever more daring territory, blending distorted drum architectures, piercing synth work, and his own unmistakable vocal into disorienting, genre-defying forms. His live and DJ performances — including collaborations with Skrillex — have cemented his reputation as a singular force, and at Blitz Music Club he has already left behind a series of truly legendary sets. Opening the night with their brooding and menacing sound are Ritournelle veterans Carl Gari with Jonas Yamer & Till Funke: this time accompanied by the voice of Palestinian artist Lynne Azzam.

Finally, the young producer MJK returns to Munich. Following his unforgettable Plus-Floor Set at the 2023 edition of Ritournelle, he now makes his Main Floor debut alongside Pariah for a back-to-back DJ set traversing dubstep mutations, grime fragments, and breakbeat-inflected techno. On the Secret Floor, Munich-based visual artist Anna Lekavski, known as Sarmabot, cultivates her distinct strand of the city’s underground scene, while Authentically Plastic presents yet another facet of their expansive artistic practice within a club context.

Im Mai 2026 entsteht erstmals eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Musikreihe TUNE (Haus der Kunst) und dem Festival RITOURNELLE (Blitz Music Club, Münchner Kammerspiele u.a.) statt. Im Rahmen des Contemporary Art Festivals VARIOUS OTHERS findet TUNE X RITOURNELLE an drei aufeinanderfolgenden Abenden statt und installiert ein vielfältiges musikalisches Programm.

Die offizielle Abschlussparty von Various Others findet dann am 16. Mai im Blitz Music Club im Deutschen Museum statt – einem Ort, der die Münchner Clubkultur entscheidend geprägt hat und zum August diesen Jahres für immer seine Türen schließen wird. Der Abend steht unter dem Titel RITOURNELLE X TUNE und markiert gleichermaßen Feier und Abschied. Das Line-up versammelt prägende Stimmen der zeitgenössischen elektronischen Musik:

Nkisi, Mitbegründerin von NON Worldwide, verbindet polyrhythmische Strukturen mit krautig-spiritistischen Synths und radikalen Techno-Ansätzen und zu einem einzigartigen vielgestaltigen Sound. Sie arbeitet oft in Tanz- und Performancekontexten, ua. Mit dem Choreografen Tiran Willemse. Mit ihrem Konzert startete die TUNE-Reihe 2021 in München. Der UK-Producer Blawan steht für rohe, hardware-getriebene Produktionen, in denen druckvolle Percussion, verzerrte Vocal-Fragmente und industrielle Härte aufeinandertreffen. Legendär ist die Stimme des Dub-Poeten Tikiman (aka Paul St. Hilaire), die bereits in den 90ern so viele classy Basic-Channel-Releases in Nebel hüllte. Tikiman schafft zusammen mit dem DJ Richard Akingbehin eine niederfrequent dröhnende Echokammer zwischen Reggae, Dub und Techno, zwischen Futurismus und Erinnerung. Zum Abschluss ist der junge MJK zurück bei Ritournelle. Nach seinem unvergessenen Plus-Floor-Set vor 2 Jahren, gibt er jetzt sein Debut auf dem Main Floor. Gemeinsam mit Pariah zu einem BacktoBack-DJ-Set zwischen Dub-Step-Mutationen, Grime-Fragmenten und Breakbeat-Techno. Auf dem Secret Floor gibt es dann noch DJ-Sets von von der Münchner Bildenden Künstlerin Anna Lekavski, die als Sarmabot den Münchner Underground kultiviert sowie von Authentically Plastic, die im Clubkontext nun noch eine weitere Facette ihrer vielfältigen künstlerischen Praxis präsentieren.
