Steve Rachmad is a true jack-of-all-trades. He produces and releases the most diverse sounds under a multitude of different pseudonyms ranging from dub, disco and house and countless other styles – all the way to back-to-basics, no-frills techno under the name STERAC. This does not mean that this is just another project among many for Steve Rachmad. But quite the opposite, in fact: the experiences in very different genres give STERAC’s techno a stylistic sharpness and craftsmanship in the mixes and production that are second to none. It’s comes as no surprise that his tracks are released on bona-fide labels like Klockworks, Delsin or Mote-Evolver, Luke Slater’s imprint. We are excited about dense, atmospheric and darkened techno of the highest order.
Drumcell is another of the most impressive protagonists of this very sound. His approach is heavy and sultry, hypnotic and raw, but above all analogue: the influence of the early years of Detroit techno, but also the radical energy from punk as well as industrial & noise can be unmistakably heard in his work and this attitude leads Drumcell to exhilarating results.
Polygonia, who we hold in high esteem, plays concentrated techno and doesn’t just shine with her exceptional technical abilities, but will foremost enrich the evening with her considerate and unique curation of opaque, yet spherical techno sounds. Finally, we have one of the most astonishing talents from Kyiv, Ponura, on the decks playing driving electro with just the right dose of funk & breakbeat tonight too.

Our very own Branimir Peco and good friends Christian Kiesler & Tobias Staab have put together a diverse, genre- & art form defying open air program titled „Olympian Drums“ at Theatron to commemorate 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in Munich, all taking place at Olympiapark’s Theatron. With free entry for all performances.
Saturday’s (2.07 / 21.00) highlight will be a mesmerizing dance performance called „Triple“ by famed choreographer Richard Sigal & Ballet Of Difference that’s going to celebrate different cultural perspectives & queerness.
Sunday / 3.07 (16.30) will feature concerts from politically active musicians such as Syrian superstar Omar Souleyman, Moonchild Sanelly with her distinctive >Future Ghetto Punk< sounds all well as turkish-folk inspired psych-pop artist Gaye Su Akyol. And then we’re particularly excited for Munich’s finest, Carl Gari & Abdullah Miniaway and their menacing, drone-orientated clubsounds. ***

Steve Rachmad ist wahrer Tausendsassa. Unter einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Pseudonyme produziert und legt er die unterschiedlichsten Sounds auf, die von Dub, Disco und House und unzähligen weiteren Stile reichen – bis zu back to basics, puristischem Techno unter dem Namen STERAC. Das heißt nicht, dass STERAC bei Steve Rachmad irgendein Projekt unter vielen wäre. Ganz im Gegenteil: die Erfahrungen in ganz unterschiedlichen Genres verleihen dem Techno eine stilistische Schärfe und handwerkliche Qualität in den Mixes und den Produktion, die ihresgleichen suchen. Und nur konsequenterweise auf Labels wie Klockworks, Delsin und Mote-Evolver, Luke Slater’s Imprint veröffentlicht werden. Wir freuen uns auf dichten, atmosphärischen und abgedunkelten Techno der Extraklasse.
Auch Drumcell gehört zu den spannendsten Protagonisten ebendieses Genres. Sein Sound ist schwer und drückend, hypnotisch und rau, vor allem aber analog geprägt: der Einfluss der Anfangsjahre des Detroit-Techno, aber auch die radikale Energie aus Punk sowie Industrial & Noise sind bei Drumcell unverkennbar zu hören und führt zu berauschenden Ergebnissen.
Auch die von uns hochgeschätzte Polygonia spielt kompakten und hochkonzentrierten Techno, aber wird an diesem Abend – und überhaupt! – nicht nur mit ihren handwerklichen Fähigkeiten von sich reden machen, sondern mit ihrer feinfühlig-behutsamen Inszenierung opaker und sphärischer Techno-Sounds den Abend bereichern.
Und mit Ponura haben wir eines der spannendsten Talente aus Kyiv an den Decks die treibenden Electro genau mit der richtigen Dosis Funk & Breakbeat spielt.
*** Wir würden uns freuen, euch neben den Clubnächten schon Samstag Abend und auch tagsüber am Sonntags wiederzusehen. Denn unser Branimir Peco und unsere guten Freunde Christian Kiesler & Tobias Staab haben ein kunstformen-überschreitendes Programm zusammengestellt, das ihr bei freiem Eintritt im Theatron im Olympiapark genießen könnt.
Unter dem Titel >Olympian Drums< findet im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten zu fünfzig Jahren Olympisische Spiele in München am Samstag, den 02.07 (21.30) eine furiose Performance des Stücks >Triple< statt. US-Choreograph Richard Sigal und das Ballet of Difference zelebrieren darin unterschiedliche Kulturen, ästhetische Perspektiven und die Queerness an sich.
Und Sonntag, den 03.07 sehen wir uns um 16.30 auch wieder Theatron! Dort lauschen wir im Rahmen des den kulturell vielfältigen, hochpolitischen Sounds der Konzerte von Omar Souleyman, Moonchild Sanelly, Gaye Su Akyol und Carl Gari & Abdullah Miniaway. ***
