You could think of tonight as a party with interesting contrasts. On the one hand,we have DJ Pete and James Ruskin, two European techno veterans with decades of experience behind the decks and as producers. They’re both artists who are known for a puristic and nuanced understanding of techno and have developed their styles in different directions over the years. Whilst experimenting with bass music as well as broken beats, they still prefer to play the music pleasantly old school, taking slow steps and carefully crafting hypnotic and soothing mixes. They‘ve not only left a mark on their respective local scenes but also with all the work they do aside the DJ-booth with DJ Pete working at the legendary Hard Wax record store in Berlin and James Ruskin as the head of the influential and highly consistent Blueprint label. On the other hand, we have Bashkka & Rachel Noon, two inspiring artists of a young and fresh generation who create important social and safe(r) spaces for people of the most diverse sexual and gender identities with their party series, Lovers (Bashkka) and Large Marge (Rachel Noon). They love to rethink techno & house in a colourful and powerful, explosive way, with the most eclectic influences of rave & ballroom culture.
What remains? An evening full of great music that shows that many roads and concepts can lead to Rome, be it impressive music or a good party. And that opposites have nothing to do with opposing each other – but rather offer the possibility for inspiring cooperation and learning processes. We don’t believe in the “one right” approach, but in the plurality of artistic concepts and styles and, of course, the diversity of people in the audience. We believe the best parties all ultimately live from good music and a lively, multifarious crowd.
We prepare accordingly and make sure we create the very best conditions for such evenings, day after day, that’s what we do at Blitz.

Die heutige Nacht kann man – muss man aber nicht! – in spannenden Gegensätzen denken. Hier DJ Pete und James Ruskin: Zwei europäische Technovertarenen mit jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung hinter den Decks und als Produzenten. Beides Künstler, die für puristischen und nuancierten Techno stehen und ihre Stile über die Jahre in unterschiedliche Richtungen entwickelt haben und mit Bassmusik als auch Broken Beats experimentieren, ihre Sets aber auch heute der alten Schule nach behutsam und differenziert entwickeln. Und mit ihren Arbeiten neben dem Dancefloor nicht nur ihre lokalen Szenen geprägt haben. DJ Pete zum Beispiels im legendären Hard Wax Plattenladen in Berlin und James Ruskin als Chef des einflussreichen, außerordentlich integren und beständigen Blueprint Label. Und dort Bashkka & Rachel Noon: zwei inspirierende Künstlerinnen einer jungen und frischen Künstler*innen-Generation, die mit ihren Partyreihen Lovers (Bashkka) und Large Marge (Rachel Noon) wichtige gesellschaftliche Freiräume und Safer Spaces für Menschen unterschiedlichster sexueller und Genderidentitäten schaffen. Sie denken Techno & House auf eine bunte und kräftige, explosivere Art und Weise neu, mit den unterschiedlichsten Einflüssen von Rave & Ballroom Culture.
Was bleibt? Ein Abend voll großartiger Musik, der zeigt, dass viele Wege und Konzepte zum Ziel, sei es beeindruckende Musik oder eine gute Party, führen können. Und dass Gegensätze nichts mit Gegeneinander zu tun haben – sondern viel mehr die Möglichkeit für ein inspirierendes Miteinander und Lernprozesse bieten. Wir glauben nicht an den „einen“ Ansatz, sondern die Pluralität der künstlerischen Konzepte und Stile und natürlich auch die Vielfalt der Menschen im Publikum. Die besten Partys leben letztlich alle von guter Musik und einer lebendigen, diversen Crowd, daran glauben wir. Und heute Abend haben wir – einmal mehr! – allerbeste Voraussetzung für einen solchen Abend geschaffen. So machen wir das im Blitz, Tag für Tag.
