LOVE IS THE MESSAGE!
While the onomatopoetic title Slapfunk already speaks for itself, > Dutch-based label focused on raw house music < is a more precise (self-)description of our guests at Blitz Club.
From starting out with illegal parties in their hometown of Utrecht 15 years ago, to an at first British- and French-led reception abroad, to international events from Munich to across the globe, Slapfunk have consistently followed a strict > DANCE FLOOR FIRST! > policy.
“Not too happy, not too dark […] simple but effective,” as Samuel Deep, one of the label’s founders and DJs, once put it.
Representing the imprint’s ethos and formula in Munich are Dungeon Meat, alongside DJ Senc and Natalie Seres, all label and record store owners in their own right.
The first-mentioned duo, House aficionados Brawther and Tristan De Cuna operating under their homonymous imprint, don’t shy away from martial imagery in their biographical descriptions, driven by a mission to supply bold, hefty, yet high-grade, B A N G I N G House music.
Natalie Seres, Refuge Radio and Panorama Bar resident, adds a UK- and breakbeat-tinged note to the bash, perhaps courtesy of her Drum & Bass socialisation.
DJ Senc, meanwhile, a frequent Slapfunk collaborator, knows a thing or two about music and records as the founder of Barcelona’s Seawolf Records store.
> We grew up with the Funk, we are children of the Funk, and we come with our new flavour of Funk for the next generation. < conclude the crew and we’re excited to their grooving utopia unfold on the Museumsinsel.
