Our friends from World League return to bring us one of the German scene’s most revered figures back to Blitz: Chris Liebing. His influence on the German techno scene is well-documented, and his contributions to the development of the genre as a DJ, contributor and labelhead are significant. As a producer, his music is characterized by an instantly recognizable, dark and forceful sound. Pounding kick drums, hypnotic basslines and highly effect, well-placed percussion define Chris Liebling’s sonic signature. But his music has evolved over the years, incorporating elements of ambient, experimental, and even classical music into his techno sound, showcasing a more contemplative sound on this recent productions and demonstrating his versatility and willingness to experiment. At the same time, he has remained true to his techno roots, continuing to produce and play music that is firmly rooted in the genre – and that’s what you can expect from his esteemed DJ-sets.

Unsere Freunde von der World League besuchen uns mit der deutschen Koryphäe Chris Liebing wieder im Blitz. Sein Einfluss ist auf die deutsche Szene mit seinen Sets, Produktionen und der Arbeit seiner Labels wie CLR erstreckt sich auch weit über seine Heimat und alte Wirkungsstätte Frankfurt am Main. Seine Produktionen sind von einem charakteristischen dunklen, wie drückenden Sound geprägt, mit wuchtigen Kickdrums, hypnotischen Bässen und effektiven und sorgsam gesetzten Rhythmen und Percussions. Seine Musik hat er über die Jahre weiterentwickelt, mit Einflüssen aus Ambient, experimenteller aber auch klassischer Musik, die reflektierte Ausdrucksformen ermöglichen und seinen Willen zum Experiment eindrucksvoll unterstreicht. Nichtsdestotrotz bleibt er dabei seinen Wurzeln im Techno treu und so spielt und produziert er neben allen weiteren musikalischen Handlungssträngen auch weiterhin kräftigen Techno – darauf könnt ihr euch im Blitz freuen.
