The third edition of our BLITZ listen! series takes off with Julietta, Zenker Brothers, Skee Mask, Lara and Muallem behind the decks. The outcome is pretty diverse and beyond any genres as expected. Dub meets house, meets Drum N’ Bass, meets Classical music, meets Disco meets Ambient. There are simply no rules and everything goes is the way to go here. The most important thing is that the music comes straight form the heart. Have fun listening!

With Blitzcast 002 we’d like to welcome another duo to our resident family: Glaskin! The name should sound familiar to all fans of remote electronic music. At least over here in Munich it does. At Blitz they were regular guests on the dance floor since the very beginning, however the Set the two brothers delivered in March convinced us that the two should step up. Born and raised in Munich, Jonathan and Ferdi are true homegrown players of the late dance music movement in Bavaria. As members of the Kellerkind crew, the founders of the festivals ‘Schall im Schilf’ and ‘Back to the Woods’, they have a substantial impact on these festivals, way beyond the mere musical selection. Their musical paths go back to their very childhood, when they found out how effectively they can create music together. With tracks like ‘Groundwork’ they have been exploring new takes on percussive techno, while their latest EP ‘Grey Lines’ shows the duo’s great variety, ranging from drum’n bass inspired breakbeats to crafty tunes that delve deep into the dub aesthetics… and there’s so much more to come. Welcome to the club!

We’re starting our Blitzcast series. This is what La Staab the messiah and creator of the the first edition says: “The mix is meant to be an ode to Blitz Club. The selection only consists of pieces that I’ve played in my sets there. It’s a real club mix and a response to the space itself. As the marvelous soundsystem allows very low frequencies to unfold, it is possible to connect to the audience directly on a physical level. People go there to make this kind of physical sound experience. Sometimes it can get pretty psychedelic and the euphoria that emerges is not from this planet. People come here to really feel the music and dive into it. It‘s great to see that they are willing to follow the journey, even if it leads through quite abstract fields.” Enjoy the ride!

Our dear compagnon Seth Troxler uploaded a two-piece recording of his Blitz Allnighter from 2nd September 2017 to SoundCloud. More than seven hours of a true musical voyage we won’t forget about. And a perfect appetizer to get in the mood for this Friday when Seth finally gets back to hit our decks again — with love and euphoria.

It’s that time of the year again. This Saturday, the infamous Schall im Schilf festival goes to the next level. We are happy to take part in the festivities by serving the finest afterparty you can imagine. To start our line up, no one else but Irish stallion Mano Le Tough will bring house heat to our PLUS floor alongside Sascha Sibler. As one of electronic music’s protagonists of recent years, Niall Mannion has set a high standard, be it through his sets , productions or label work. His imprint Maeve constantly takes care of groundbreaking releases and showcases around the globe. Our BLITZ floor will feature more techno oriented vibes, with our by now regular Freddy K, Shinedoe and Stenny. Free entry with festival wristbands. 

Es ist mal wieder soweit. Diesen Samstag geht das Schall Im Schilf Festival in die nächste Runde. Wir sind glücklich teil der anstehenden Festivitäten zu sein, denn wie auch im letzten Jahr stellen wir eine Aftershow Party die es in sich hat. Den Anfang in unserem Line Up macht niemand geringeres als Irish Boy Mano Le Tough, der zusammen mit Sascha Sibler auf unserem PLUS Floor für druckvolle House Vibes sorgen wird. Als Protagonist der elektronischen Musikszene der letzten Jahre, setzt Niall Mannion immer einen hohen Standard, sei es durch seine Sets, Veröffentlichungen oder seiner Label Arbeit. Sein Imprint Maeve sorg immer wieder für bahnbrechende Releases und Showcases auf der ganzen Welt. Auf unserem BLITZ Floor wird es dagegen etwas strammer zugehen. Mit unserem mittlerweile regelmässig spielendem Berlin-Italiener Freddy K, Shinedoe und Stenny ist für ausreichend Techno-Wums gesorgt. Einlass mit Festival Bändchen ist frei. 

 

Hun Choi aka Hunee is one of those DJs that always surprises. In his sets he serves the spectrum from left to right and bottom to top, thereby managing to pack everything into a coherent story that makes sense, and even more: Combining Detroit Techno with an African Ethno bomb, or a boogie classic with some rare funk jams, Hunee tells in depth musical stories that are teh exact opposite of hypnotising monotony. We are following his path for over a decade now and its beautiful to see how our old friend has grown into a solid entity in our global circus that is going from strength to strength. As producer he is always delivering full quality, his debut album on Rush Hour is still one of our favorites of recent years. Hunee will play this Friday alongside our good companions from Public Possession, Marvin & Valentino. 

Hun Choi aka Hunee ist einer dieser DJs, die immer wieder überraschen. In seinen Sets bedient er das Spektrum von links nach rechts und oben bis unten, schafft es dabei aber immer eine zusammenhängende Geschichte zu erzählen. Das ist aber längst nicht alles: Mit Leichtigkeit kombiniert er eine Detroit Techno Scheibe mit einer Arikanischen Ethno Bombe oder ein Boogie Klassiker mit einer ultra raren Funk Scheibe. Dadurch erzählt Hunee tiefgründige Geschichten die das absolute Gegenteil von hypnotisierender Monotonie darstellen. Bereits seit einer ganzen Dekade verfolgen wir seinen Werdegang und es gibt nichts schöneres zu sehen, wie unser guter alter Freund sich zu einem festen Bestandteil des internationale Zirkus entwickelt hat und sich dabei von Triumph zu Triumph hangelt. Auch als Produzent macht er seinem Ruf alle Ehre, sein 2014 auf Rush Hour erschienenes Album zählt nach wir vor zu unseren Lieblingen der letzten Jahre. Hunee spielt diesen Freitag zusammen mit unseren Kameraden Marvin & Valentino von Public Possession.

We’re taking a trip to the Olympic Lake – or more precisely to the beautiful Capri Bar – for a very special one-off event.
DJ extraordinaire, producer and Innervisions boss Dixon, label lynchpin Marcus Worgull and rising DFA cohort Perel  will step up for two unerring sets; at Capri in the evening, followed by Blitz at night. There will be bus shuttles from Olympic Park to BLITZ.
