Explorers is the title of the new format from our good friend and simply stunning DJ Spit, aimed at open-minded and contemporary audiences who are ready to embrace and discover its motto of > genre-fluidity <. DJ Spit himself, undoubtably one of Germany’s current dance music shooting stars, is an avid promoter of genre-defying mixes and selections with a focus on high-energy bass-music hybrids that recalibrates the perception of what you’d call > Rave < through styles like Drill, Drum&Bass, Ghetto House and much more. Dashing through myriads of genres and styles and different forms of musical abstraction, DJ Spit makes big pop-gestures and experimental polyrhythms seem like close relatives in the blink of an eye. It’s not hard to see why DJ Spit is one of the scene’s most in demand party-starters!

The rendition of Explorers at Blitz could hardly be more exciting, with a thrilling array of acclaimed DJs sharing decidedly modern and multifaceted perspectives on club music. DJ Spit himself teams up for a back to back with the mind-melting, Icelandic Techno-futurist Bjarki who regularly ignites our dance floor with sleek, yet avant-garde, leaning-sounds and plays red-hot grooves with utter (ice) cool.
Sherelle, at the forefront of a new 160bpm movement controls and arranges rumbling bass, agile hi-hats and bright melodic bursts from the junction of state-of-the-art Footwork and Jungle, like few others and goes back to back with I. Jordan – another one of the UK’s hottest DJs and producers. Jordan’s style marries House, Footwork, Garage and 90’s Rave into a highly euphoric, charmingly exuberant blend with a particularly joyous, shimmering French Touch that’s hard to resist!
Explorers is about promoting open-mindedness and as such also about promoting brimming local talent. Don’t be fooled by rosi96’s seemingly easygoing tempos, though! Part of the contemporary Munich scene’s cornerstone Radio 80000, she plays otherworldly breakbeats and resists the urge to show off with her knowledge of broken beats to concentrate on the golden ratio between earthy yet diverse grooves and dub-informed, transcendental soundscapes.

Explorers ist der Titel des Formats unseres guten Freundes und von uns geschätzten DJ Spit, welches sich an ein aufgeschlossenes Publikum richtet, bereit, das Motto und Konzept der > Genre Fluidity < anzunehmen und zu entdecken. DJ Spit selbst ist zweifelsohne einer der aktuellen Shootingstars der deutschen Szene und ein eifriger Verfechter eklektischer Mixe mit einem Fokus auf hochenergetische Bass-Musik-Hybride, welche die Wahrnehmung dessen, was man gemeinhin > Rave < nennen mag, durch Stile wie Drill, Drum&Bass, Ghetto House und vieles mehr neu kalibrieren. Wenn DJ Spit im Handumdrehen durch zahllose Genres und auch verschiedenste Formen der musikalischen Abstraktion rast und dabei große Pop-Gesten und experimentelle Polyrhythmen wie vertraute Nachbarn erscheinen lässt, ist es nicht schwer zu verstehen, warum DJ Spit aktuell solch steile Karrieresprünge macht.

Die kommende Explorers-Nacht im Blitz könnte kaum vielversprechender sein, mit einer Reihe aufregender DJs, die dezidiert moderne und vielseitige Perspektiven auf Clubmusik teilen. DJ Spit selbst spielt ein back to back mit dem isländischen Techno-Futuristen Bjark,  der unseren Dancefloor regelmäßig mit sleeken und doch avantgardistisch angehauchten Sounds zum Kochen bringt und brandheiße Grooves mit außergewöhnlicher Coolness spielt. An der Spitze einer neuen 160bpm-Bewegung innerhalb der Szene steht Sherelle. Sie arrangiert drückende Bässe, peitschende Hi-Hats und melodische Wendungen im rasanten, Wild-West-artigen Grenzgebiet von Footwork und Junge und legt mit I. Jordan back to back auf. Jordans Stil verschmelzt House, Footwork, aber auch Garage und 90er Jahre Rave zu einer höchst euphorischen, charmant-überschwänglichen Mischung mit einem flirrenden French Touch, dem man nur schwer widerstehen kann!
Lasst euch, zu guter Letzt, nicht von den vermeintlich moderaten BPM-Zahlen von rosi96 täuschen. Zentraler Teil der wichtigen Münchner Radio 80000 Community spielt sie packende Breakbeats und konzentriert sich darauf, den Goldenen Schnitt zwischen facettenreichen Beats aus dem weiten Feld der Bassmusik und dub-geschulten Soundscapes zu setzen anstatt mit waghalsigen Rhythmen zu protzen, was zweifelsohne könnte.
