After starting out with festivals like “Schall im Schilf” und “Back to the Woods”, the brotherly duo Glaskin quickly took the dancefloors throughout Munich and beyond. Also intensely crafting on their own productions in the meanwhile, they caught international attention with a pivotal track on Scuba’s acclaimed Fabric 90 mix in 2016. With their crispy follow-ups, like „Groundwork“ on Hotflush Records, they’ve been exploring new takes on percussive techno, while „Objects“ delves deep into the dub aesthetic.

Silent Servant – 24/03/18
Juan Mendez’s techno origins stretch back to the late 90s, when he put up cutting edge minimal labels like Cytrax and Delay, along with Steve Tang and Kit Clayton. His Silent Servant moniker finally came up in 2006 when joining the acclaimed Sandwell District collective, making a mark with his dark and simmering sound aesthetics. His consistent and focussed output, whether as collaborator, solo producer, label head or graphic artist, has earned him genuine credentials from various scenes; whether techno and industrial, goth, punk or wave. Silent Servant’s own productions are brutally honest and resolute, with a deeply pensive core and forward-thinking orientation. Mendez also collaborates with UR’s Santiago Salazar, running the Historia y Violencia label, and set up the Jealous God imprint with James Ruskin and Regis, on which he recently dropped an intense EBM joint with Marcel Dettmann. Listen to it below.

Âme (live) – 23/03/18
Âme are fabulous explorers. Hailing from Karlsruhe in Schwarzwald, Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer constantly broadened the horizon of house and techno. Spanning from the cold machine funk of Detroit to the high-flying house sounds of Jersey and the krauty side of German electronics, they’ve created a vibe that is truly special. Just pick out electrifying classics like „Rej“ or „Ojomo“ to showcase Âme’s aptitude for passion, creativity and perfection. Together with their good friend Dixon they set up the seminal Innervisions imprint in 2005, which became home for some finest electronic music and parties across the board. Their joint Essential Mix from April 2016 is still a remarkably classy one; listen to it below.
On Friday Âme will be gracing us with one of their much sought-after live sets, alongside label cohort Trikk. The rising Porto producer already left his mark with releases and edits on Man Make Music, Hotflush and Losless, with an unerring hand for vibes. His complex tracks and enthralling house excursions combine it all at the same time; being fast, slow, rough and smooth. Check it out! Rounding off the bill will be Munich nightlife mainstay and electronics wizard Sascha Sibler.

Global Communication – 76:14 (Before the party starts: 17/03/18)
I am constantly sharing music with my friends. This way I’m able to listen to music outside my bubble, which is a priceless gift. This LP was given to me by my friend Karim and is without any doubt a very important one to ambient music. Global Communication is Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton together and the album is from 1994. I first listened to it while working on my bachelor thesis. Usually I can’t listen to music when I’m actually trying to read or write because it simply distracts me. So I tried ambient music, thinking naively that the subtle soundscapes wouldn’t distract me. Well, after the first or second song from „76:14“ I found myself staring at the screen, spacing out on Global Communication.

Sun Electric – 30.7.94 Live (Before the party starts: 16/03/18)
It’s one of my favorite albums that I listen to all the time, on the train, during bed, especially i like to listen to while I cook and also my favorite to listen to a Friday after work before the weekend begins or a Sunday as the weekend ends. I think it’d be great to listen to before a party too 🙂 A beautiful feeling expressed through out like almost being tucked into bed or walking and with your friends arms around eachother’s necks.
CRUISE – 17/03/18
On Saturday it’s time for Cruise to take over the controls once again, celebrating its lucky number 11. Buckle up for the deep and dark techno sounds of Grounded Theory co-founder Henning Baer, the warm analogue stylings of Dutch producer legend and DJ extraordinaire Steve Rachmad aka Sterac, and eclectic grooves from Lighthouse Festival ambassador Leo Küchler.
In the meantime, the PLUS floor will resonate with house rhythms and jacking grooves by Edinburgh-based nightlife fixture Prosumer and Blitz hometown hero Muallem.
Love is the Message!

Jeff Mills – 24/03/18
Jeff Mills is undoubtedly one of the founding fathers of techno music. With his beginning as radio DJ The Wizard in the late 80s and via his industrial-laden journeys with Final Cut, he made his mark in Detroit. And when he soon after linked up with the former Parliament bassist Mad Mike Banks, techno history was written. After setting up their synth-packed UR studios and joined by a young rapper named Robert Hood, the crew brought up their very own revolutionary approach in sound, mission and aesthetics. Dressed with black combat suits Underground Resistance started out their triumphant sweep through the US and Europe quickly after. Anyhow, Jeff Mills moved on, starting Axis Records and creating an impressive output including timeless anthems like „Solid Sleep“ or „The Bells“. It was in 2000 when Mills stepped even further, beyond the club music scene, when he rescored Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and spread out towards more cinematic and orchestral ventures. Just check the stunning performance of his „Light from the Outside World“ project alongside the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra below. The celestial topic became a fixed part of Mills’ art and work; he custom-built an UFO-shaped drum machine named „The Visitor“ and currently presents the interstellar radio series „The Outer Limits“ in collaboration with NASA. Watch out, the next episode is getting aired on Wednesday, March 14 at 2PM GMT/ 3PM CET here.

Mall Grab – 16/03/18
Hardly any artist in recent memory has caused such a stir as rapidly as Mall Grab. The young Australian producer dropped an incredible series of lo-fi jams on labels like 1080p, Unknown To The Unknown and Hot Haus Recs, amongst others. Check the latest release on his own Steel City Dance Discs below and get ready for a tireless night of chopped and screwed house with a dusty touch on Friday.
Joining him will be no less than shapeshifting DJ Python aka DJ Wey aka DJ Xanax aka Luis… However, Queens-based producer Brian Piñeyro stakes out a distinctive musical voice with each of his identities. But still, a decent influence of his Latin background always remains, giving his sets and productions an unqiue buoyant tip.

Rex Ilusivii – In The Moon Cage (Before the party starts: 10/03/18)
Mitar Subotic Suba is one of the pioneers of Yugoslavian electronic music, producer of a few legendary new wave albums from the 80s and under his pseudonym Suba the man who made Brazilian music popular all over the world back in the 90s. It is because of people like him that Belgrade and Yugoslavia had such a rich music scene back in the 80s. It was the time when I was a kid and everything that was happening in my home city had a huge influence on my music taste and general course of life. If I haven’t been exposed to all that in my early childhood, my whole musical being could have gone in a terribly bad direction as it has happened to many people around me in the war-colored 90s.
Suba also had a project named “Rex Ilusivii” which means “king of illusions”. It’s something we would these days call “ambient music”. His work under this alias have been reissued and rediscovered and brought to international audience by my dear friend Vladimir Ivkovic who runs Offen Music label. “In The Mooncage” was the label’s first release and I’ve been opening my sets with different songs from this one since I got the record. What really touches me deeply about this record is the use of Serbian folk lullabies and chants. There’s something intriguing and genuinely dark about Serbian mythology (vampire is originally a Serbian word) and this record truly works with this sentiment. When I hear it, I can feel the spirits of my ancestors in my whole body and at the same time it awakens the memory of my growing up surrounded with electronica in the 80s. This record is emotionally very important to me and I hope whoever manages to come to Blitz early and hear it on their mighty soundsystem will be able to dive deep in the night.
