Axel Boman – 24/02/18

Boman made a breakthrough with his EP Holy Love on Pampa Records in 2010 where the song “Purple Drank” became a hit in the house music scene, since then he has been touring extensively and made remixes for artists like Justus Köhnke, DJ Hell, Agaric, Dave Aju and Harald Björk. He is one third of the Swedish label and DJ-crew Studio Barnhus where he has put out numerous releases. Bomans music has been described as “raw, playful and drenched in oceans of soul” and his dj-sets are as energetic as eclectic. He is also very friendly in a Scandinavian way (sexy).

Dravier ‎– 香港 trajectory (Before the party starts – 09/02/18)

09.02. Before the party starts…
23:00 – 23:59

Dravier ‎– 香港 trajectory

Since the very first day at BLITZ Music Club we pick an album to listen to in the club from 23:00 – 23:59 – literally before the party starts. For tonight, we asked Jimmy Asquith, head and founder of Lobster Theremin to share an album with us:

“This is a physical cassette release that I actually would take with me whilst travelling to gigs last year, to listen to on my portable Sony tape player. I’d whip out the player on the plane and often the person sat next to me would be gobsmacked, as if I was from the past or something. Reminded me of how the characters in Dark [Netflix show] must feel 😉

Dravier is one half of the Jungle Gym label and his music is totally next level relaxation and ambient/drone meditation pieces. He has a lot of material out there and a lot of great stuff through the multi-format Tourist imprint. I’ll actually be releasing an LP by him on my Tidy Bedroom imprint that debuted my Tom Hang long player last year, so watch out for that around summer time.

Lastly, make sure you watch Dark on Netflix as it’s the best series in ages! Serve with tangy lemonade & greasy pizza on a Sunday night.”

Machine Womans 90ies Eurodance Workout Playlist

“Russian-born, Berlin-based Machine Woman has been garnering attention and praise lately for her aggressive yet subtle style of underground electronic music. Her sets across Berlin have been drawing crowds and facilitating a reputation for contemporary cuts that sit somewhere inside the techno and electro spectrum.”

Answer Code Request “Gens” Album Release – 10/02/18

Both as a DJ and a producer, Patrick Gräser aka Answer Code Request has honed a hybrid musical approach that stands out in a world of uniform 4/4 techno. Melding pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks and an industrial sonic palette, Gräser has occupied a unique space within the Ostgut Ton cosmos since debuting on the label in 2012 and becoming a Berghain resident shortly thereafter. His various releases and remixes for Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe and Monkeytown Records continue to be highly sought after. As a DJ, he has taken his bass- and breaks-heavy techno to clubs and festivals around the globe, while remaining an integral part of the Berlin scene.

On his celebrated debut LP Code (Ostgut Ton, 2014), Gräser actively sought to push the boundaries of techno. His follow up LP Gens, out on Ostgut Ton in February 2018, exudes a similarly experimental approach, albeit with darker results. Ultimately, Gräser’s musical vision is one that spans styles and decades of dance music without sounding retrospective or all over the map.

Slaves To The Algorithm: How Facebook Is Throttling Underground Culture

“The struggles of being an artist on Facebook” – Resident Advisor just released a link to a The Quietus article where Mollie Zhang looks into this topic.

“I spoke to a number of artists about what they think of Facebook, whether they use it, and how they use it. Of the artists I spoke to, only a couple aren’t on Facebook at all. All of them had a variety of issues with the platform and, of course, a number of different ways to respond to them.” Read more on The Quietus.
