Glaskin – 31/03/18

After starting out with festivals like “Schall im Schilf” und “Back to the Woods”, the brotherly duo Glaskin quickly took the dancefloors throughout Munich and beyond. Also intensely crafting on their own productions in the meanwhile, they caught international attention with a pivotal track on Scuba’s acclaimed Fabric 90 mix in 2016. With their crispy follow-ups, like „Groundwork“ on Hotflush Records, they’ve been exploring new takes on percussive techno, while „Objects“ delves deep into the dub aesthetic.

Sedef Adasi – 31/03/18

It’s been roughly five years ago, when Sedef started taking over the decks in some of the finest sleazy, dark and narrow venues in Augsburg, spreading a colourful mixture of most current house and techno. With an enthralling passion for music she quickly built up a full-on party crowd in Augsburg and regularly turned City Club into a steaming hamam, where she invited some of the finest DJ and producers from near and far. Nowadays, her dazzling reputation take her into Berlin’s Salon zur wilden Renate, Hamburg’s Übel & Gefährlich and onto Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio. We’re excited to having her play alongside Glaskin and La Staab this Saturday.

In her mix for Groove Magazine in November 2017 she smoothly navigates through the old school electro funk of Claro Intelecto, along the thriving techno beats of Ostgut Ton’s Steffi, and even some acid and IDM sytlings, up until the fluffy Scandinavian disco vibes of Lindstrøm. Check it out below.

Âme (live) – 23/03/18

Âme are fabulous explorers. Hailing from Karlsruhe in Schwarzwald, Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer constantly broadened the horizon of house and techno. Spanning from the cold machine funk of Detroit to the high-flying house sounds of Jersey and the krauty side of German electronics, they’ve created a vibe that is truly special. Just pick out electrifying classics like „Rej“ or „Ojomo“ to showcase Âme’s aptitude for passion, creativity and perfection. Together with their good friend Dixon they set up the seminal Innervisions imprint in 2005, which became home for some finest electronic music and parties across the board. Their joint Essential Mix from April 2016 is still a remarkably classy one; listen to it below.

On Friday Âme will be gracing us with one of their much sought-after live sets, alongside label cohort Trikk. The rising Porto producer already left his mark with releases and edits on Man Make Music, Hotflush and Losless, with an unerring hand for vibes. His complex tracks and enthralling house excursions combine it all at the same time; being fast, slow, rough and smooth. Check it out! Rounding off the bill will be Munich nightlife mainstay and electronics wizard Sascha Sibler.

Jeff Mills – 24/03/18

Jeff Mills is undoubtedly one of the founding fathers of techno music. With his beginning as radio DJ The Wizard in the late 80s and via his industrial-laden journeys with Final Cut, he made his mark in Detroit. And when he soon after linked up with the former Parliament bassist Mad Mike Banks, techno history was written. After setting up their synth-packed UR studios and joined by a young rapper named Robert Hood, the crew brought up their very own revolutionary approach in sound, mission and aesthetics. Dressed with black combat suits Underground Resistance started out their triumphant sweep through the US and Europe quickly after. Anyhow, Jeff Mills moved on, starting Axis Records and creating an impressive output including timeless anthems like „Solid Sleep“ or „The Bells“. It was in 2000 when Mills stepped even further, beyond the club music scene, when he rescored Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and spread out towards more cinematic and orchestral ventures. Just check the stunning performance of his „Light from the Outside World“ project alongside the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra below. The celestial topic became a fixed part of Mills’ art and work; he custom-built an UFO-shaped drum machine named „The Visitor“ and currently presents the interstellar radio series „The Outer Limits“ in collaboration with NASA. Watch out, the next episode is getting aired on Wednesday, March 14 at 2PM GMT/ 3PM CET here.

Mall Grab – 16/03/18

Hardly any artist in recent memory has caused such a stir as rapidly as Mall Grab. The young Australian producer dropped an incredible series of lo-fi jams on labels like 1080p, Unknown To The Unknown and Hot Haus Recs, amongst others. Check the latest release on his own Steel City Dance Discs below and get ready for a tireless night of chopped and screwed house with a dusty touch on Friday.

Joining him will be no less than shapeshifting DJ Python aka DJ Wey aka DJ Xanax aka Luis… However, Queens-based producer Brian Piñeyro stakes out a distinctive musical voice with each of his identities. But still, a decent influence of his Latin background always remains, giving his sets and productions an unqiue buoyant tip.

Martyn – 09/03/18

Throughout the many layers of his winding journey in electronic music, Holland native Martijn Deijkers, aka Martyn, has always stood in a genreless scene of his own. His distinct path through bass-driven music of all shapes and colours started out on play:musik and Marcus Intalex’ Revolve:r label, followed by releases on Tectonic, Brainfeeder, Ninja Tune and Ostgut Ton, as well as his own 3024 imprint, just to name a few. However, a strong love for house music and warm technosoul always shined through. So teaming up with the likes of Four Tet, Efdemin, Shed and UR’s Santiago Salazar for some compelling collaborations and remixes was just a natural progression. Now based in Washington D.C. Martyn continually connects arts and scenes, whether by reshaping his timeless classic „Great Lengths“, heavily gigging around the globe, or hosting his monthly „Layovers“ radio show on NTS.

Check out his latest „Angels EP“ on Steffi’s Dolly Dubs imprint, featuring three dubby and jacking UK-influenced gems here.

ONE YEAR PLAYGROUND – 03/03/18

After our joint blissful 24-hour party marathon into this present year, we’re happy to partnering up with the Playground crew once again. With the aim for upgrading the Munich nightlife for the open-minded party crowd, they’ve constantly put on hard-hitting raves over the past 12 months. Yes, indeed, it’s time for an exceptional birthday edition in Blitz this Saturday. Get yourself prepared for another long-lasting night featuring a remarkable cast of DJs. Just get a taste of it below…

First off, Francois X’ formidable debut album „Irregular Passion,“ out on the Parisian Dement3d label, clearly deserves a worthy celebration. Drawing inspiration from the bustling nightlife with its intense sensations, the French techno stalwart playfully crafts an enthralling and unsettling, yet sensual ambience. Currently completing a huge tour throughout Europe and Asia, Francois X will adeptly dip the Blitz Floor into sexual tension and blurry atmospheres.

Joining him will be no less than Benelux techno legend Speedy J. One of the pioneers pushing new sounds foward in the 90’s, alongside Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin or Richie Hawtin, and establishing Rotterdam as a musical trademark. With a back catalogue, ranging from Warp Records and Planet Mu to Stroboscopic Artefacts and his own Electric Deluxe imprint, this will be one for the records.

Panorama Bar resident Roi Perez sees his approach to DJing in purely wanting to let the music play. An admirer of possibilities and the power of expression, the Israeli native takes the audience on a dynamic musical journey through genres and styles. And even off-clubland, he hones his craft in such brilliant mixes as the recent one on Rinse FM.

Rounding off the bill at Blitz floor will be our dear club resident Julietta. Her profound devotion to warm house grooves and melodies since the early 90’s made her become the unique activist in Munich clubland that she nowaday is. With an aptly intuition, her sets floatingly vary between House and Techno with all its deep and dubby facets.

The PLUS room is about to get deep on Saturday! The Irish native Cormac not only held DJ residencies in global entities like D-edge Brazil, Culture Box Copenhagen, Space Ibiza and fabric London, his productions also gained Kudos from Miss Kittin to Jennifer Cardini and Nina Kraviz. Young Berlin native Nitam meanwhile stands for moody, melodic synth sequences combined with uplifting elements. In quite an instance his mix of classic house with modern techno slant lead to regular appearances at Panorama Bar and two releases at Ostgut Ton’s sublabel Unterton. Third in the round will be Playground resident Rony Golding. Almost 20 years in the DJ game, the Cologne DJ and producer moves around tech house and progressive techno for some of the most amous underground gay parties in Europe.
